D7 R25 2024

R25 brings some new and exciting teams in playoff competition. But sadly at the end of the day we all know who's going to win DVII. As far as region 25 goes, a healthy Kennedy team can compete. But we will see.

dnis Lucas had to be the best 14 seed in d7 Hornets could not stop the run but our offense is way better than our 20 team wiith that being said if Malvern can beat Lowellville do you give them any chance against Hillsdale

Hillsdale may have committed the sin of peaking too early. Time will tell. Their secondary is good, with great size and wheels. In fact Hillsdale’s team speed will give everyone fits shy of a state final.

To be honest, it’s a matchup game more than a dominant vs. sub. Malvern’s O’s vs. Hillsdale’s O’s could be a track meet. In need of big stop, I gotta go with the birds all day.

Obviously Malvern’s offense can score on anyone. Going to depend on getting stops on defense. Hillsdale is very good and battle tested. Talk about it more next week should they both win. Ohsaa playoff rule: never look ahead.

Can I just say…
The thought of Windham traveling to Jeromesville and getting a taste of the WCAL has me giggling, Grade A sicko. @YTownPenguin06 pay attention. This region’s champ requires physicality.
People just don't get it. Until you've seen it and experienced it first hand, you don't know what real physicality is. Outside of Springfield, especially a couple of years ago, the MVAC doesn't have it. Now that I attend D3 games and watch us play a lot of D2 teams, the very best of this region historically is right there in terms of physicality. I am not saying they can hang with the bigger schools but the style of hardnose play is the same. Size and speed is the biggest difference. The teams through the years that have won the region physically beat up their opponents regardless of if they ran a spread or wing t. CH, Lucas the year they were good, Kennedy, Dalton, they all kicked your teeth in. Hillsdale fits that mold this year.

Jaws, in terms of Mahoning Valley, where would you the WCAL? Upper tier NE8? Maybe Scarlett tier MVAC where they're good. ( I'm thinking Labrae or Brookfield a few years ago)

nupanther, in this area, Mahoning Valley, Its Ursuline and JFK that could realistically make it to State Title games year in and year out(MSML won't be beat in Div VII). Now South Range is constantly in that conversation well coached, tough, physical kids. Fitch has players but doesn't like to mix it up which they tend to get bounced from the playoffs every year in an early exit(head scratcher). Canfield like JFK is a shell of themselves, kids have exited and more to follow. Broc Lowry isn't walking back through that door. NMS matches physicality and coaching but often lack those game changing athletes unless Beau is walking back through the door. Matty will have WGH back but good luck in Region 5(Hoban & WJ are monsters). West Branch is pretty darn good offensively but schedule doesn't test them all year and then welcome the Tarblooders to Region 13

Whats left in 2024: Mahoning County
Fitch: Another WGH showdown
Ursuline: VASJ way more competitive without Bo Jackson then I thought in the first matchup. Will Chardon get them again? We will find out how physical the Irish truly are
West Branch: Unlucky draw week 2 of playoffs with the Tarblooders
Struthers: Season over when QB went down but not on the level of the top 5 in the region(MLC, Perry, WB, Glenville, maybe better than Streetsboro?) Perry in round 2 is a nightmare
South Range: Another matchup up with the G this week, will it be more than 28 points this time around
Poland: Martins Ferry, the Purple Raiders play absolutely nobody, Poland losing to a 4-5 Canfield is a total head scratcher
Springfield: I HATE Toronto: FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF--- Gem City. Toronto plays a decent schedule and NMS plays Geneva & SR. Sean don't duck opponents
Western Reserve: 12-0 loss to NMS. Your honor I rest my case. CH is a bad matchup for WR. Intriguing matchup
Lowellville: Great food concession stands, Malvern might put it on them

Whats Left in 2024: Trumbull County
WGH: Beating Fitch twice will be a feather in their cap for season 1 of the Matty Rich era
Girard: Sorry you draw SR again
JFK: 18 point underdog to Monroeville

That's how I see it, Trumbull County might have nobody playing in Week 13 but I suspect WGH. JFK losing to Monroeville will be a tough pill to swallow. Mahoning County goes 4-5. (Ursuline, SR, Poland, NMS advance)

Great write up, Temp.
Ursuline north of D4 is not my favorite.
K still being relevant after an exodus of talent and a coaching purge is a nice thing. A D7 gift, but a nice thing.
Guerriero is a good coach. Post Brungard the tigers are the new McDonald IMO.

I think Malvern rolls Lowellville. The game vs Hillsdale would be shootout. Their pass defense is far superior to ours (who's isn't).
I like Hillsdale in that matchup, but the Hornets could keep it close.

OHHHHHHHHHH thanks pal :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Please don't use NMS and McDonald in the same breath, its very disrespectful 40-0:cool:

D3 Region 9 is a better fit for Ursuline (VASJ or Chardon) or Glenville in D4 Region 13. I would take D3 Region 9. MLC smoked CVCA(III:9), Perry Pirates smoked Geneva(III:9) I think its an easier road for Ursuline in D3 than in D4. Does Gilmour Academy, Aurora, CVCA strike doubt in your mind against Ursuline. I don't think so

I was speaking more historically. I like claiming the Irish as a small school…

Same with McD (20+ years ago) reference.

They are closer to the NE8 in some respects. Year in and year out South Range, Struthers and Poland are pretty physical. Top to bottom the WCAL is more physical.

I was at JFK Toronto @ Fitch & JFK Toronto @ Mollenkaf. Toronto 100% dirtiest team and coach was a clown too.
Really showed the character of JFK kids to stay out of the BS both nights.

Watching that video makes me wish there was a way they'd have the chance to play Kirtland. I'm sure Springfield will handle business this weekend, but team like that needs a good flat out mauling.
