D7 R25 2024

Actually, I'm rooting for either of the undefeated teams, Hillsdale or Monroeville (I see they have 5 straight shutouts). I don't know the mentality of these teams, but whichever one has the strongest self-belief and honestly believes they can beat ML, that is the team we want.

I think Malvern is a copy and paste of a less physical Hillsdale team so I would expect about the same score of that game.
I hear good things about Malvern. I believe they are legit. In saying that, if you believe Malvern could compete with
Hillsdale, you believe they are better than Dalton. Give me Dalton over Malvern every day of the week. My rankings
are as follows:

1. Hillsdale
2. Monroeville
3. Malvern
4. JFK
5T. BCWR
5T. McDonald
7T. NSP
7T. Lucas

Well if you seen the Hillsdale and Dalton game you would know that they had a 2 trick 70+ yard touchdowns. a flea flicker and a hook and ladder. If they play again both healthy i'd take Dalton. But I think Hillsdale would beat Malvern. I agree with your rankings

Funny story - my son's junior year at JFK (2020 season) was the year they beat Dalton, Lucas and the Newark Catholic only to get drilled by New Bremen. Then, the 2021 they beat NSP, and then Dalton in that epic 14-7 game and loose to NC in the semis 14-7 in a winnable game. No tears were shed by son. I believe that as they were shaking hands after the game - "Have fun getting drilled by Marion Local" was said along with some "good game"

But just a reminder that the 2016 JFK team did beat Minster for the state championship.

Malvern has a QB and WR combo that will give anyone fits. They can score on anyone, defensively it’s all about getting stops.

Fun anecdote you shared on 2021. Dalton had two relatively elite athletes, JFK had one. Whether it was a matter of JFK artfully putting the game on Brown's back at the last possible moment, Dalton just frankly losing because they couldn't defend him (because they weren't exposed to a level of that athlete and therefore weren't taught how to do things like form nets) or somewhere in between, it boiled down to a breakout game from JFK's best player.

I'm sure those postgame sentiments the following week, back at Marlington wasn't totally driven by the belief that, if not for the snow, JFK should've won that game.

We didn't handle the elements and decided not to show up again in the first half against NC. NC had a monster Otackle and their QB was pretty good. Their MLB was a dude. Probably the most disappointing loss in our 9 years there. That one game and the sting will last a lifetime. Never cared if we lost to better team(New Bremen), such is life but we didn't reach our potential that year

Figured I’d draw you out with that one. That, or some anti-Noles rhetoric. Yes, that MLB was a dawg. I know y’all would’ve liked having him as an Eagle.

This is all true. But I know the kids weren’t heartbroken. The prospect of getting throttled the next week - again - on TV wasn’t exciting for them.

One could argue that they did reach their potential that year when they beat Dalton...? Because I believe Dalton was better than both JFK and NC...they just didn't get the job done against JFK (didn't help that the QB had an injured throwing hand and could not throw the ball like he had all season long)....This game still makes me sick...so many missed opportunities for Dalton and all I can see those Brown on a Jet sweep right, Jet sweep left over and over and over again in my nightmares still......🤦‍♂️

Dalton on paper was the most talented team between Regions 25 & 27 that season. Schlabach 1/1 on individual talent this side of I-71 that year, Wenger Malone also obviously very good. K’s trench play and defensive gearing was Canton-worthy. NC’s offense was the most potent and they’re birds of the same Kennedy feather on defense (seams better tho.)

Kennedy’s offense, although it best fit the personnel to work with, wasn’t going to be enough to make it to Canton. Clear skies, blizzard, hailstorm, 50mph gusts, it doesn’t matter. Run-intensive tendencies were going to meet the end of the line against that NC team. I think Dalton would’ve been a FG favorite against the ‘Wave in dry conditions, but they weren’t going to be anymore fortunate than the K in that mess at Marlington.

JFK that year had dudes, and dudes in spades. But they were a few dudes short of being a defensive nightmare. The following year, I do think they would’ve been more potent on offense if the future p5 WR (now getting Catechized down south) didn’t get hurt early on in the season. What that really means in the grand scheme of things… nothing really.

I believe you mean Malone not Wenger unless I am forgetting someone

You’re 100% right. I know you’re right because the two kids (Malone and Schlabach) had the same first name (different spellings.)

Schlabach was the easier one to recall off memory. I conflated the second kid (Malone) with the kid Dalton had who was a beast at basketball at the same time. I actually don’t recall if Wenger played or not. Making matters worse in this snafu is thinking “Jalen” was close enough to “Jaden” in my mind. Thought it sounded right in my head and memory, but you are correct. Schlabach and Malone.

lol neither of the wengers played football unfortunately. Having a 6'5 and 6'7 TE or WR in those brothers would of been nice though! But yes all the names were way too close

7-0 at half against NB:cry::cry:. Let's just say that BS holding call I got during the one time we were driving def didn't help the final score. But I thought we won the game after that goal line stand we had

As I have said previously we felt beating Dalton that year was punching our ticket to the State Finals. I will always believe Dalton > NC. It would have been easier for me to swallow losing to Dalton that year then to NC. I think NC was better coached, I think Dalton had more talent overall. Although NC had three special dudes. The Dalton Qb hand definitely played a part in him not being himself. I thought if they pounded the rock against us it would have been a different outcome. The Dalton FB still gives Tommy V nightmares to this day. #44 looked like an armadillo rolling backwards in his shell :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: . JFK at halftime decided to win/lose with the horse that brought you, Antwan Brown took over. Defense decided to wake up and our senior leaders started calling each other out at halftime.

I'd forgot about the Dalton FB, but remember thinking Dalton got a little too cute. If they had changed out 10 passes for carries by that kid they probably win

@carnholio possible fomenting of violence over <there?>

Related: absent moderation by OVA ownership winds up in a liability. Brilliant. I don’t know how these guys managed to blow a board that covers 1.8* counties. Alas…

*the “.8” represents the fractional representation of Monroe and Jefferson Counties.

Pick a side Mr play for the K. The K only counts for football? Your former players that occasionally you got something good to say good bout on here see right thru it. So do the parents the that have been here for 4 years.

That's how I'm reading it, too. That board is a definite Bellaire middle school ketchup throwing :poop: show.

I clearly picked a side when I walked away. Thats not the K I represent., NONE of them know what the K means because none of them bled for the K. I haven't been there in over two years but I'm glad you still think of me. So what your trying to say is you miss me. Call me we can do lunch
