??
Excellent list.?

Not much respect for central Ohio but based on past performances that is probably justified. DeSales as everyone knows is a parochial school and has a great program. Up from 3 they could be higher than 8. Big Walnut returns everyone from 11-1 team. Bad loss at the end tarnished them but they are a very good team. How good will Hoover and Green be? How much did they lose. Overall an interesting list and with so many teams getting your picks will probably all make it. Just need to look at what order.

My list is based on a power ranking I have devised and strength of schedule is a big factor, not necessarily where they will finish. The Federal League teams will beat each other up IMO.

Here is how every team would be ranked last year based on points.

1 . Big Walnut 12-1
2 . Dover 12-1
3 . Hoover 9-3
4 . Massillon Washington 11-3
5 . Westerville South 8-3
6 . Teays Valley 9-2
7 . St Francis DeSales 7-5
8 . Dublin Scioto 8-4
9 . Green 11-4
10 . Canal Winchester 7-5
11 . Marion Harding 7-4
12 . Licking Heights 5-5
13 . Lake 5-5
14 . Independence 5-6
15 . Wooster 7-6
16 . Worthington Kilbourne 4-7
17 . St Charles 2-7
18 . Watkins Memorial 4-6
19 . Perry 2-8
20 . Northland 3-6
21 . Logan 2-7
22 . Whetstone 2-7
23 . Briggs 2-5
24 . Mount Vernon 2-8
25 . Walnut Ridge 1-7
26 . Franklin Heights 0-8
26 . West 0-9
26 . Mifflin 0-7

Lake seems poised for a good year. Big Walnut will be good as well. Don’t know much about Desales but didn’t they recently play for a title?

I want a rematch
A rematch next year would be almost meaningless unless Green somehow pulls off another great year and we see them in the regional final. Beating them in the first or second round next year after they have a mediocre season won’t be “revenge” imo.

They had their team, called their shot, and didn’t miss.

I just don’t want the undefeated vs Massillon label to stick around very long ?

This region comes down to Massillon, the four Feds, Dover, Desales and WS....not sure of the order but I think Firestone fans nails the top 8.

There is a website that lists Massillon's all time record vs every school they ever played. Out of about 180 current Ohio schools on the list, only 12 are undefeated against Massillon. That is an incredibly small number. I can think of about 5 teams Green has played in just the last few years that we've never beaten. McKinley is in the same league and Green has never beaten them.

What Massillon really needs to do is schedule a rematch against Martins Ferry. The Purple Riders have been bragging for the last 101 years about how they won their only game against the Tigers. Time for that to end.

Green will return to little brother of the fed status this year

Purple Riders*

(fitting mascot and reference, here, given that Zane Grey was America’s most popular author when MF beat Massillon)
