Could this happen in Ohio?

Used to happen quite often years ago. In some football-crazed communities, strikes would often be organized to occur during the heart of football season to create additional leverage. It could happen again.

While the judge may be correct on his ruling, the fact that such a rule actually exists IS ASININE!!! Whoever came up with these rules ought to be dropped into Lake Michigan from 1000 feet without a parachute!

Denying kids the opportunity to compete because of pissing contests of adults goes against everything that education is supposed to be about.

Where on the OHSAA website does it state that if a school district's teachers are on strike, a school cannot participate in athletics?

In Illinois there is first a regional then sectional, and then a state meet. Due to this rule, one regional was just a two-team meet.

For Ohio the issue would be that a coach has to attend all competitions. In a district with an ongoing strike there would likely not be coaches with a valid PAV available.
