Contact sports ban leaves San Francisco 49ers, other Bay Area teams in limbo

For at least the next three weeks, the San Francisco 49ers are a team without a home.

That's because Santa Clara County, home of the 49ers and Levi's Stadium, issued enhanced COVID-19 guidelines for professional, collegiate and youth sports on Saturday afternoon that effectively put a three-week ban on any contact sports taking place in the county.

Assuming no other counties in the Bay Area are utilizing similar guidelines, the easiest solution would be to play at Stanford which is in San Mateo County. It's also closer to SF than Santa Clara is.

Berkeley is probably their best option if they really need a big stadium, but as far as I've read, they're looking to play outside of Cali

Has there been any occurrences of transmission on the field of play? Last time the Steelers played the Ravens Humphrey likely had Covid and there was no transmission to any Steelers. It’s likely there have been other instances were a guy played on game day asymptotic and was diagnosed soon after.
How many High school football, soccer, cross country runners contacted Covid from a game or match this Fall? More overreach by Cali politicians.

There's not much hard science behind COVID.

About all they can tell you for sure is whether you have it or not, and sometimes, that's wrong.
