I've been to one hip hop show and it was thr Last time I truly followed the genre.
Mid to late 90s, Miami university, Cypress.Hill. Gawd awful live. After that started to pay attention to hip hop live avts and noticed how horrible they are....

But anyways. Weather looks good so far for Dokken next week so we shall see

best of luck with the weather. This year has been a P.I.T.A for outdoor activities.

Weather is supposed to be good but it must not be selling well as I just picked up some free fix already!

Back to the Strait concert.....over the weekend was giving a block of instruction at work about the power of persuasion and how the mind often will subconsciously alter ones perceptions and actions. It was cold at the Strait show. Dont think it go out of the 50s that day and when I got to the car it was mid 40s and i was underdressed.

When The Fireman came on they had flames all over the video screens, and the ones midway up in the stadium. I went from shivering a big to.....feeling warm, simply by seeing fire.

The mind and subconcious are powerful tools and can be vulnerable to the power of persuasion, hence why we are pelted by adverstising at every turn of life. Even if you think i doesnt affect you.....your subconscious is a different storyl

Oh man I’m jealous of this one. Their dates don’t work for me.

The price didn’t work for me, but I bit the bullet and got them anyway because my son really wanted to go. It should have been in the $40-50 range IMO and not $70-80. I’m assuming that’s why there were plenty of tickets left when I bought, unlike Mt Joy and Red Clay Strays who sold out quickly and left us without tickets.

Oh yeah, that’s a hefty price for those two acts. I’d still pay it if I could attend, but I wouldn’t be thrilled about it. Agree that they should have topped out around $50.

I've seen The P-Funk a couple of times. The crowd is almost as entertaining as George Clinton and the Boyz . Took my Wife and Son to one of them and the Dudes next to us all dressed out Gangster Style whipped out a big ole Cheech & Chong Doobie and started passing it around. My son who was about 20 and has cousins who party looked at me and i gave him the nod ..... He was a little nervous at first around those guys by the end of the show they were teaching him a bunch of handshakes. LOL These guys had Top Hats, Walking Canes , Canary and Pink Colored suits . Funny stuff.

Anyone thinking of streaming that live event from England on 5 July with Sabbath? No way Ozzie does much of anything but the list of acts is impressive. Belive ya have 48 hours to view it and with it being on a holiday weekend that works. May have my outdoor viewing area ready by then

Do you know what streaming service its going to be carried on? I seen Sharon is running things and already kicked out one unnamed Major band because she got in a argument with their manager. SMH

We were talking about it tonite and none of us knew.

Dokken tonite.

Awful.
And that is being polite. We stuck around only to see George lynch at the end.

wife said we are going to Blues Travelers. :) Our tickets are down the lower left side on one of the aisles. We will be staying at the Tru that night basically in the parking lot. There is usually a gathering of concert goers in the lobby enjoying some beverages after the shows. Met Burton Cummings in the lobby there last year.

Thats 2 bad . How was George ?
Fine but they didn't make a.real big deal.of it
So sorta a letdown.
Fact is...we were so ready to leave it didn't matter.

The venue is ok...you can't charge 45 and 55 for shows there as you can sit outside the fence for free.

Luckily our tox were free and as my buddy said...we overpaid

Queens of the Stone Age at Kemba Live last night. Phenomenal show, played 19 songs and even took audience requests. They were electric and sounded incredible. Dave Grohl has been quoted as saying QOTSA are one of the best live bands in the world. First time at Kemba, and really liked the venue and size. The Kills opened and had a nice tight 11 song set. A great band in their own right, but QOTSA slayed that show. In Cincy tonight and if you can, it would be worth checking out.

Catching up on things with Eddie Trunk episodes.

Bad Company guitarist Mick Ralfs died. Apparently he has been bed ridden for nearly a decade. At least he was alive to know they were selected for the HoF.

ACDC announced more shows....in Australia! There is 7-10 days between shows so speculation they may double.up some shows.
Also...in the rumor mill is they may announce once they are down under that....this may be a retirement leg.of.their.career!

PAngle Pavillion in lima is getting shows. It's an OK place but...they want 45-65 for.their lawn seating AND u .can watch and listen free outside the fence. Slaughter and Aldo Nova will.be there soon

The last several Years after Thanksgiving until after the New Year Concert Season takes a vacation for the most part except the concerts that raise money for charties usually put on by local radio stations. Like last years QFM Don Felder show which was amazing and also had a silent auction.

But this Year The Bluestone is bringing in Ripe and Allen Stone together on Weds. Night 12-3 for the Record either of these two could be the Headliner. Both have big followings here in Central, Ohio and i suspect this will be quick sellout.

For those not familiar Ripe is out of Boston where it was formed by former members of the illustrious Berklee College of Music and they bring a upbeat Jam Band R&B Jazz Infused rock sound to the stage fronted by Robbie Wulfson .
We have seen them about 6 times as openers and headliners . They did a long Tour with Columbus based O.A.R recently well worth the price of admission.
Allen Stone is a Soul and R&B singer out of Washington State whose influences are Marvin Gaye, Gladys knight and Bill Withers . We discovered him long a go at the now defunct Fashion Meets Music Festival on a Hot Saturday afternoon playing in the 2:00 time slot. His vibe was incredible and he stayed just off stage all day enjoying adult beverages and talking with everyone.
The Ladies Love him and i go with my Hot Wife knowing 75% of the crowd is going to be Women. LOL I may be married but i ain't blind.....

This will be a Hot time in a Cold Month and a great reason to step out for a night and leave the Holiday stress behind for a few hours.....

Edit: If you got a Lady do yourself a favor take her to this show . She will Love it.
Robbie Wulfson Ripes Frontman loves to wander through the crowd before and after they play and he's always willing to stop for a picture with the ladies. This is a chick magnet show . Did i say that already.?
