Concerts. 2021 and beyond.

Rumors ACDC to announce a NA tour this week.

Apparently the stadium in Minnesota briefly had an annoucment of tix for an April show and then taken down quickly, almost like the adminstrator made the changes but didnt intend for it to go live yet.

So.....we shall see. All acounts they were very good overseas ths past summer.

havent seen them since, I think it was the Siff upper lip album tour in the Nutter Center.

What are some recommended docs to watch?
On the last episode of Nothing But A Good time about the 80s rock, pretty good.
Crazy how fragile and the thin the line was between some of the bands that hit it big and some that bombed!

Some reason the Dio one wont play on the roku, some error, but have a number of them ready to roll this winter

AC/DC Announcement

Going to see Ambrosia, Peter Beckett (of player) and John Ford Coley in Lima in Jan.

Sound good in recent youtube videos I've seen. Looking forward to it.

Eddie Trunk is reporting from sources that many major cities will be added to the acdc tour....likely after the current ones are near sellouts

I’m guessing Cleveland (already announced) may be the only one in Ohio. 🤷‍♂️

If they do announce Cincy, I may try and catch them. 👍

Catching up on Eddie today......heard him talk about an NFL announcer talking about a halftime or pregame performance before a raiders game and the guy said....' a performance by Sammy Hagar and Alex Van Halen'//////(it was michael anthony of course.....

I could see cincy maybe.........

I passed on a free ticket to Red Wanting Blue at the Bluestone the other day. Said I had plans but didn’t. Mistake? I only know their popular songs.

I thought about Trampled by Turtles at the Agora in Cleveland December 12 because I’m fan, but I’ve been wanting to see their opener The Last Revel for a while now. Anyone know them?

I know Trampled by Turtles, not The Last Revel

Youngstown Foundation Ampitheater just added Coheed and Cambria and Mastadon on 6/1/25.

Love it when I only have to drive 15 minutes instead of over an hour for a show!

I hear you. There are so many good shows that come to Columbus. I generally drive down, park, see the show and I’m right back to my car so quickly and it’s amazing. I’ve also driven three hours to see shows and it sucks. I also go visit my folks when I see shows in Cleveland or Northeast Ohio, and have a place to stay, which is cool. Unfortunately I don’t know any of those three bands you just mentioned.

2 bands. Coheed & Cambria and Mastadon, lol
Progressive rock metal type stuff. Both have been around for over 20 years.

I’ve done some stuff in Columbus before, actually prefer it better than Pittsburgh, even with the longer drive.

C’mon, man! I don’t know anything about this progressive rock metal of which you speak. 😁

Update

The Get Up Kids in Columbus was a bucket list show for me. They were playing their influential 1999 album "Something to Write Home About" in full. It was great, I felt 17 years old again.

Ken Mode at Westside Bowl was also good. I didn't know much about Ken Mode, but they put on a great show, local opener Rebreather was great and Hide was definitely something, not my cup of tea, but I can listen to anything.

Here is my updated upcoming.
11/8 Cursive/Gladie, Grog Shop, Cleveland
11/23 Saves The Day/Senses Fail, House of Blues, Cleveland
12/13 Red Mars Sky/Howling Giant, Westside Bowl, Youngstown
1/28 Donny Benet, Grog Shop, Cleveland
1/31 Kerry King/Municipal Waste/Alien Weaponry, House of Blues, Cleveland
2/5 Tim Heidecker/Neil Hamburger, Beachland Ballroom, Cleveland

Nice stretch there at the end of 3 concerts in 9 days. Super excited, all very different stuff.
Update. The Cursive show was top notch, they are lifers and always put on a great show. The Saves the Day show was another bucket list one for me, they played their influential 1999 album "Through Being Cool" in full. That album just holds a very special place in my heart. I could not listen to it for 100 years, then listen to it and remember everything about it. Not huge Senses Fail fan, but they put on a great show. I also went to this show with 3 of my oldest friends. Everything about it was great.
Mars Red Sky is stoner metal band from France. They were awesome and Howling Giant from Tennessee won my heart with their brand of metal.

I have added a bunch of shows at Westside Bowl, I won't list them here. If you ever get a chance to make it to Westside, you will not be disappointed. Just a top notch place with so much to offer.

About to start my stretch of 3 concerts in 9 days. All very different and I am really excited.
1/28 Donny Benet, Grog Shop, Cleveland

2/5 Tim Heidecker/Neil Hamburger, Beachland Ballroom, Cleveland

Along with the shows at Westside Bowl, I have also added.
2/19 The Get Up Kids/The Anniversary, Beachland Ballroom, Cleveland
3/1 Willliam Montgomery (comedian) Funny Bone, Cleveland
4/9 Bright Eyes/Cursive, Agora Theatre, Cleveland
6/1 Coheed and Cambria/Mastadon/Periphery, Foundation Ampitheatre, Youngstown
7/16 Ghost, Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse, Cleveland

Then my first out of town show.
11/8 Bear vs. Shark, Thalia Hall, Chicago

Went to see Susto at A&R Bar tonight with my son. What a great show they put on. We got there early first in line for front row and was able to set my phone level on the stage divider and record the whole show. Rewatching it right now. I also got the setlist from the guitar player, which is cool. I think I have about four or five of those now. I’m still dismayed that they aren’t more well-known. To me, they are amazing. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Next up is Steven Wilson Jr at the Bluestone March 7 with my wife. I suspect he’ll move beyond small venues like this soon. I just saw the other day he was on Hardy’s upcoming summer tour.

Went to the Schuster center last weekend to see the Cinderella Ballet. I've never been there..or to a ballet...

Was an amazing venue and performance. Loved the music!!

Ended last year with between 85-90 bands under our belt.

took off Jan. and feb. except for some local bands.

We have a decent schedule set up for this year and its pretty top heavy in March and April we will probably add at least 5-8 more shows.

Several Blues artists , The 3 day Tampa Bay Blues Fest and 2 Days at Sonic Temple , 3-4 shows at the Rose in Huber Heights , 1 show so far at Ludlows in Cincy and 1 show at the Midland Theater in Newark , 6 Shows at the King of Clubs.

haven't counted them up yet but probably around 20 days of music and around 50- 55 Bands .

We have to be more careful in our older years, both of us have been diagnosed with some significant hearing loss . Without a doubt from way to many concerts. LOL Oh Well

Get yourself some concert ear plugs... they are too expensive for what they are but worth it...

Could you share the brand etc of what he recommended?

They are called EARasers and cost was $45 i believe off of Amazon . Comes with a endorsement from Guitarist Carl Verheyen from Supertramp FWIW.
Invented by a Musician, Made in the USA, made specifically for Concert goers and Musicians playing on stage and for all instruments . And of course supposedly #1 Rated.

I'll be the judge of that. LOL

They aren't bulky and seem to fit comfortably into our ears, but we haven't wore them for a 2 hour concert.

I'll let you know next Thursday how they worked out. We have a Blues Show in a very small venue that should give them a decent test.

I have range ear guards but they are so big and bulky i never used them for a concert.

Thank you! I bought some..I think off of a facebook add...just rubberish plugs that let the sound/frequencies come through but at a lower volume

Last night I was at a tiny little bar named Johnnys Glenn Ave Grill in Grandvie with about 12-15 people, and two of those people were from CAAMP. I didn’t talk to them because our poker table is in the back room, but had I gone up front I likely would have let them be. They go there because it’s low key

CAAMP is cool. If College Gameday ever went to Athens, OH they should be the guest pickers. But they'd probably go with Logan Paul.

CAAMP has been in my top 5 bands since around 2018. I’ve seen them several times as well as Taylor Meier’s side project Sumbuck, which is basically CAAMP without the third guy.
