Concerts. 2021 and beyond.

Cole Swindell Thurs and I believe Tesla and Stryper to finish out the month.

Sammy Hagar and the boys are going to Japan soon. They are taking Eddie Trunk and I'll be honest....I'm gonna miss his daily show!

Still no word of ACDC will have anything in NA.....

Read where Def Leppard is announcing a summer 25 tour...maybe playing some of their older stuff.

I didn't know this until it was on Trunks show..but yrs ago I guess DL was their own opening act playing all deep tracks.
When Sammy was at Riverbend jason Bonham had to head across the pond for a family emergency . So Sammy casually brought in Kenny Aronoff long time John Mellencamp drummer who also spent time with John Fogarty , Bob Seger, Willie N. , Joe Cocker, Bon Jovi and Lynyrd Skynyrd .

Guessing they didn't miss a beat.......

None whatsoever. Had a family member and coworker there, and both raved about the show/how well Sammy sounded.

Cole Swindell review at The Rose in Huber Heights.

Had a blast.

It has been a hot minute that I have been to a show of a current/relevent artist and where the avg age of the audience isnt 65+ and I sorta forgot how much more energy it brings!

Been saying this for a number of years now........I would rather attend a concert of an artist i know and like than almost much any sporting event....

Period.

But anyways.....not a huge CS fan but enjoy much of his released work and they sounded great and a lot of energy and it was electric!
Know it is a great show when a few times ya get goosebumps and the feels........for that song "You should be here". Presume mother daughter next to me and when that song came on......many the feelz.

Sorta ironic as I post this i am listing to Trunk's "Concert penatly flags' for what bugs you at shows and last night.....there was a jackaplope in front of me routinely videoing the bigger songs and man it took all my disipline to not go off on this pr1ck. So instead of just having to look around his noggin, I also had to navigate past his phucking phone blocking more view.

PEOPLE DONT CARE ABOUT YOUR SHODDY VIDEOS ON MYSPACE. THE VIDEO AND AUDIO SUCKS WHEN YOU DO THIS and put the damn phone away and watch with your own two eyes.

Lord...what a douchebag.

With said....Stryper and Tesla is next up I think.....

Agree : one of the best shows ever was jack White at kemba Live. He had everyones cellphone locked in a case. other than idiots who talk through the whole show people with phones in their hand for any reason just drive me nuts. I'll admit i'll take 4-5 good pictures the first song or two then in my pocket the phone goes.
You'll notice at shows the Photographers are only allowed to take picture down front during the 1st 2 songs then they must vacate the pit area. i try and follow those rules. if you see a photographer down there any longer or a camera guy that is the Bands doing for one reason or another.

You can google their recent setlists . looks like they are playing a 16 song set .

Been to The King of Clubs many times and will be at this show. The Best Concert Venue in C-Bus IMO for its size. This show will be a sellout . Club holds about 850 . Clean bathrooms , more than reasonable drink prices, beautiful wait staff, and the owner Rick Wolfe and his staff make it a point to treat every one like a King. If i was going to work at a concert venue this would be the one , except he rarely has opening . talk to any staff member they love working here.

I’ve been to King of Clubs. Nice little venue in an area in need of some commercial activity. The owner recently caught some flack for his replies to complaints to his google reviews. They were definitely pretty harsh with an IDGAF attitude. He just doesn’t give AF apparently lol.

There is a lot more to that story . If you'er talking about the Band he wouldn't let play there . And you'er right on this matter his IDGAF attitude was warranted and he was backed by every local band and many national acts who have played there. He has a simple rule for local bands . And believe me the list and waiting list of local bands who want to play there is extremely long.

Rule: That is up front and part of TKOC Contract / The band gets 30 tickets they must sell at a discounted price to family, friends , whoever. He returns a small % back to the band when they bring in their ticket sales . Its a Win / Win the tickets are way under face value and there are always National Acts on his bill. This particular band sold 4 tickets and then verbally threatened his staff which also included his wife. When told they were being taken off the show that night. It escalated from there .

No, this was related to the alleged staff treatment of a handicapped person. I’ve not heard of the stuff you mentioned.

Metallica still gonna do their different setlists for both shows?

I think I’ve mentioned this before, but ever since my cancer diagnosis in 2021, I have been trying to go to one concert a month and have been pretty successful. I’ve shared some of the concerts in the past, now after 9 weeks of chemo and recovery I’m getting back at it. Here is my upcoming list.
7/24 If These Trees Could Talk, Grog Shop, Cleveland
8/13 Haunt/Savage Master, Westside Bowl, Youngstown
9/24 The Get Up Kids, Athenaeum Theatre, Columbus
11/23 Saves The Day/Senses Fail, House of Blues, Cleveland

Still looking for something for October, but potentially Drive By Truckers or GWAR 11/1.
Update
If These Trees Could Talk was excellent. The Grog Shop is one of my favorite places to see a show. Easy for me to get to and easy parking. Love the small clubs. Opener Sleepmakeswaves was from Australia and they are also excellent.

Haunt/Savage Master was also really good. This was one I went to on a whim, I knew Haunt, but really knew nothing about Savage Master. They have become one of my favorite bands after seeing them.

Added AJ Croce on 9/10 at Robins Theatre in Warren. Not really my type of thing, but a coworker had an extra ticket, that I didn't have to pay for. This was Croce plays Croce. AJ is Jim Croce's son and an accomplished musician on his own. He plays Jim Croce's songs, some of his, and some other covers. I really enjoyed this and it was nice to go to a concert and not have to wear ear plugs!

Also added High Desert Queen on 9/11 at Westside Bowl, Youngstown. High Desert Queen was touring on their way to Desert Fest in NY. Westside Bowl is only 15 minutes from were I live, so this was also on a whim. Small crowd but the bands really put on a good show. One of the openers, Rated Eye, from Pittsburgh was a cool little band with a great guitar player. High Desert Queen killed it, if you are into Stoner/Desert Rock they are excellent.

Upcoming
9/24 The Get Up Kids, Anthenaeum Theater, Columbus
10/7 KEN Mode/Hide, Westside Bowl, Youngstown
11/23 Saves the Day/Senses Fail, House of Blues, Cleveland
2/5 Tim Heidecker/Neil Hamburger, Beachland Ballroom, Cleveland

I will probably add a couple more Cleveland dates and a few Westside Bowl dates for sure. Thanks for listening!

Don't know. They have been dual Headliners at Louder than Life and a few others. I'll have to check their setlists
Some people like Trunk love how they were doing it but honestly it would make me not wanna go knowing they would not be playing all the biggies

I just saw a mid-minor group I’ve been listening to for a bit, The Last Revel, is up in Cleveland at the Agora Dec 12 with Trampled by Turtles who I also listen to. If this was in Columbus, I’m there in a heartbeat. All the way to Cleveland in December, probably not. If you’re interested in TLR’s best songs, my vote would be with: Engine Trouble, Blind in the Fray, & Light in my Eyes.

damn this new blue pop up ad grrr

Thursday 9/26 is Burton Cummings at The Rose. Will be my first time there. Hoping for good weather.
Other than getting to and from the car and Warped Wing the weather shouldn't matter.

If your looking to get out quickly after park in close to WW as that is where they dir3ct that lot afterwards

Thanks. I don’t drink anymore…assume WW is a bar. After last week, I was hoping for not a 90 degree day. Now, just a dry day/night. Driving from Columbus and yes just wanted to walk around dry.
