Nah, this isn’t the SEC. OSU and Michigan don’t care for having the have-nots ride coattails and act like they did something.
That’s not the topic at hand. The point is, if someone cared to tune in and try to watch Iowa play football, they would quickly come to the conclusion that they are an absolute talent-bereft disaster, especially on offense.

Then it would be noted that Iowa also lost to Big 12 cellar dweller Iowa State, yet won enough Big Ten games to be in play for the Big Ten West title until aptly named Black Friday, when they got stuffed in a casket by so-bad-they-fired-their-coach Nebraska, whose interim guy was subsequently arrested on suspicion of domestic issues.

The Big Ten, everybody!

It’s true, it’s true. Trust me …

I didn’t read any of your post after it isn’t the topic at hand but I’m sure it’s a solid 3/10 rant. It is, you brought up that OSU and Michigan shouldn’t want the rest of the country seeing how mediocre the rest of the Big 10 is. This isn’t the SEC who sees the likes of SC, TN, ATM, etc. ride the coattails of Alabama and Georgia’s success and act like they’ve won anything of note in the last 2+ decades. Michigan and Ohio State don’t care if the rest of the country sees how mediocre the rest of the Big Ten is.

If you don’t want it to be a topic discussed, don’t bring it up.

You mean the league that has two participants in the CFP? That Big Ten? Lol.

Sounds like Brohm to Louisville is a done deal. Will be interesting to see where Purdue goes.
In light of recent developments Luke Fickell probably won't be the first name mentioned for every coaching job that comes open now........ Paul Chryst or Jim Leonard. Or maybe Paul Chryst with Jim Leonard as his DC. Purdue may wind up in a better place, when the dust settles.

A guy who’s team didn’t have a good year, but had some good recent years…and he’s won everywhere he’s been…is Jim McElwaine. He would be a great hire for Purdue, IMO.

Purdue should hire Leonhard and work on having a good defense for the first time in a long time.

No.

A good DC can bring a good defense. Purdue will continue to look first for innovative offense because that's the fan base. Sean Lewis, if he can be released from his new contract in Colorado. A proven head coach. Proven mid-west recruiter. Pure offense.

You want an Offensive mind from the Midwest? Tommy Rees. Make it happen.

Other than the National playoffs, I only see about 3 bowl games I am mildly interested in. Most of them you would have to pay me to watch them. And the price would have to be worth while.

I think Caleb Williams is still at the podium delivering his Heisman Trophy filibuster speech.
Agree on bowl games and this was the first time in my life I did not watch the Heisman ceremony. I did see they pared it down to an hour instead a two hour show about nothing.

This is the state of college football really. Everything that used to be so great about the game is eroding before our eyes and it is tough to take.

Sac State coach is headed to Stanford to replace Shaw.
He f’d up bad on that final drive. He had 2 TOs but let 11 secs run off the clock while his Offense ran a play. If he uses that TO, he saves at least 2 plays. Instead, they ended up having to throw a Hail Mary.

NIL is good when it’s used as intended. There was never any reason for players not to get paid when EA was using their likeness in video games. The problem is the scummier programs using it as inducement and tampering with other team’s players. The only reason Drake Maye had to release a public announcement he wasn’t transferring was bc other schools were trying to steal him right off UNC’s roster.

I think there was a public school of thought that picked up steam that he’d follow Longo to Wisconsin, so he had to come out and address it.

I had read it was Bama, bc he was committed there before going to UNC.

I get all of that but there are no more "scummier" programs. Once someone does something they all do it. It is obviously a big business and this is how business works.

I'm unsure how you reign it in at this point?

I think some are worse than others (A&M, Miami, USC)

The NCAA has been an incompetent organization prior to this. There's no chance the existing governing body will reign it in and regulate it.
