coach from a school located in Lakewood indicted for sexual assault and rape of a couple of their wrestlers. What the hell is going on with our high profile schools, clean this crap up in our wrestling community. Hits our sport hard.

It is not limited to high profile schools it is everywhere. BEDFORD has had 2 or 3 in the last 18 months. North Olmsted recently had a coach arrested. I just read down in Stark County 14 people were arrested I. A sting operation thinking they were going to meet up with an under age child. This type of behavior exist everywhere.

Sick, what was 14 people gonna do to the child? The ring of fire? Now cops dressed like 21 Jump Street as referees?

If true, and he's convicted on all counts he's going away for a very very long time. Indictment says it took place from 2015-2019.

Agree with everything you stated. I also tend to add "if true" to any "breaking news" until more facts are in. My thoughts are not focused on this creep, but rather any students or wrestlers that had to endure this type of invasion of their lives. Hope there is no long-term effect and they are able to deal with what happened through therapy and understanding that it was never their fault. This is not the type of crime where sympathy or leniency is appropriate for the perpetrator. Taking away his freedom for a very long time is good - although there are times when medieval punishments seem more appropriate...

I live in THE USA! You are not guilty until proven so. All kinds of people jump on a bandwagon. Personally Gonsor has never approached my Son in ANY way shape or form. I’m not defending him. I’m simply saying that neither I, or anyone else knows the truth unless you were there. If he is found guilty by a group of his peers, “Explicit “ verbiage inserted. I would be the FIRST person to condemn him. WE don’t know that. I ask that everyone thinks about DUE process. That’s what this Country is built on.
There are a LOT of people that would like to Judge prior to due process. I ask as a parent and father that you think about what you post. Prior to posting. JMO ! You can hide behind a “Surname “ if you wish and post whatever you like, but in today’s day and age we are all accountable. JMO of coarse.

several years ago, I had a wrestler I spent a TON TON of offseason time with. He was a great kid. He must be 25, 26 ish now. Sadly and SICKLY, he was busted for sharing child pornography online. The FBI showed up at his house and busted him. He had never been in trouble. At his sentencing, he told the judge to consider the fact that he had never been in trouble and had never even attempted to touch a kid. The judge said because of sick people like you people do touch kids. He got 20 years. Gonsor might get life

He plead not guilty and St Eds wrestled today so there must not be any school imposed sanctions or OHSAA. Put your shoes on and wrestle, me do sports, no lesson needed. Others might not of known the severity of the abuse but they knew of some odd arrangements.

What school imposed sanctions do you want eds to do? He does not work there any longer. You can't go with a conspiracy theory that others knew.

What more do you want St. Ed’s to do. They investigated it, let coach go, and state picked up charges on him.
This is a touchy subject and something like this could happen at any school. So I hope you was not trying to throws stones at Ed’s coaching staff and administrators.

Of course it can happen at any school, we have a swimming coach that’s going to be possibly indicted. At the very least We will put on leave until we get more information. I called the school president and left a message, have not heard back. I hope we start monitoring every practice, have designated personnel outside of the swim team to make sure the kids are safe protected and not violated. One occurrence is catastrophic, 10 occurrences or 10 catastrophes. And should be handled as such.

Sounds eerily similar to one busted in my area. He was a youth/JH coach. He was a sophomore in our team my senior year. Never touched or pursued. Got a hefty sentence when the FBI busted him.

Not happy with our response to the swim coach, no notifications to the alumni. Seems like the president Crowley is not being forthcoming and hoping it goes away.

Anyone else find it odd how can this guy was indicted on 20 counts including rape and gets a 10K bond? The female superintendent in Ohio recently convicted of similar crimes but not specifically rape had bond set at 350K when charged.

I find it odd that you join a wrestling forum 30 minutes ago and the first thing you comment on is a thread that had not been commented on since Feb. 13 so this makes me believe you have another name and are one of those persons who likes to throw rocks and then hides their hands. The 8th amendment of the United States Constitution covers bail.

Yeah stick your head back in the sand as this isn’t a story. Coach faces rape, corrupting another with drugs, gross sexual imposition, etc. and nothing to see. The good old boy network in Cuyahoga county will try to make this go away. The 1st Amendment covers freedom of speech. In your narrow minded thinking this freedom applies to those who share your beliefs.

So here is the thing I haven’t said anything otherwise regarding the charges, the allegations are serious and have to be dealt with. The 8th amendment covers bail and you are right you have the 1st amendment that allows freedom of speech. So again this leads me to say there is no win win in any scenario regarding the abuse of a child/student, however I was pointing out that you are a new poster and you scrolled down till you found this particular thread and it is the first thing you commented on. This is a wrestling forum and there are many threads that are/were good reads about wrestling and the upcoming state tourney that you would’ve encountered prior to reaching one that had many new threads before it.

See here is the beauty of the 1st amendment, I can post and give my opinion. Much like how your pompous self can come on a forum and tell someone what they should be doing on said forum. I merely posted an observation on a subject which obviously got someone’s panties in a bunch. I would only hope that if god forbid someone in your family is the victim of a heinous crime that you would continue to adhere to your belief in the 8th amendment for the individual charged. It will be interesting to see if sometime after March 15th these charges are dropped or there is a guilty plea on a few reduced charges. The justice system can be funny like that if a victim decides not to cooperate any longer or a story may change. Justice certainly isn’t blind, but there a quite a few fans on the teat of programs who are.

So for the record if he is found guilty or he pleads to any of the allegations against him I hope that justice is served accordingly. You are correct it is your right to speak on anything that you desire but as a new member to this forum I found it interesting that you were able to find this particular thread and tie it to the female Superintendent who was sentenced to 10 years in prison and you eloquently pointed out that she had bail set at $350k and that coach had bail set at $10k. That my friend in my opinion signals hidden agenda. I find it humorous that you call me pompous because I pointed out how you found this thread and I said bail is covered under the 8th amendment and not rendering my stance one way or the other. I also want to say again abuse/ sexual abuse of a child/person is beyond fathomable and it should be dealt with accordingly.

Please all knowing one elaborate on my ‘hidden agenda’. It is quite pompous to come on a public forum and tell someone what they should be doing on the forum. Should I eloquently point out another individual from the same school facing charges of trying to get together with a child has a higher bond facing lesser charges? This individual isn’t facing the litany of charges of the wrestling coach/firefighter, but for some odd reason this other teacher’s bond was higher. Comparing these two individuals would indicate that their might be some type of hidden agenda being in play to give a break to one individual on bond. I’m sure there are some folks facing rape charges in Cuyahoga county that wish they had bond set at that amount. Nothing seems odd at all. Insert head back in sand.
