Cleveland Guardians

The HRs by Mr. Noel can't come as a surprise because we know he has a ton of power but how about that catch he made to end the 4th inning? That saved at least 1 run and probably 2 with the Guards already down 3-0. Then he hit the 3-run blast to give the Guards their first lead at 4-3 and of course he added the solo shot later. Great game by Big Christmas.

Noel has been an impact addition. He’s played a credible outfield and he’s been a clutch hitter and the team clearly loves his awesome power displays when he unloads on one.

It worked again my powers lol.

I think you need to hone those powers a little bit for the stretch run. Save them for the biggest games. :)

Even after suffering through a 7-game losing streak no team in MLB has a better record than the Guardians at 70-49. I am interested to see Mr. Boyd make his first start tonight. Hopefully he can give them some innings and keep them in the game. It would also help the pen if Mr. Hentges could make it back at anywhere near his top form.

Trade deadline is gone, but it is never to late to sign Trevor Bauer and save some wear and tear on the bullpen.

Best record in the MLB again, which just underscores how wide open this postseason should be. Here’s hoping Boyd and/or Cobb can pitch well enough to get that World Series win this year.

I agree, and probably no organization knows him better than does CLE, but it’s pretty obvious MLB has blackballed him, which is disgraceful because they also took away prime years of his career by rushing to their own judgment.

I was at a luncheon in the spring where Bob DiBiasio spoke.

Two questions were asked where he simply replied “No” and quickly moved to the next one were “Have you thought about having a Cleveland Indians Day?” and “Has the team considered signing Trevor Bauer?”.

Keep winning any way you can. If you can get cushion to 5 games with 30 left, that's pretty tough for the trailing team to overcome even if you.just play .500 the last 30

Are you sure? A certain idiot told us a few days ago that it was over and the Guards would not make the playoffs.

I think I agree with your math more than his.

I would have liked to have seen Vogt let Boyd finish off the sixth, especially since he replaced him with a sack of crap reliever who promptly walked the first batter he faced, but no matter what happens you couldn’t have asked for more than Boyd gave them tonight.

If you are a Guardians fan you have to like that performance by Mr. Boyd. He did the most important thing a pitcher can do, he threw strike one, to almost every hitter he faced. I didn't see the final breakdown of strikes and balls but he threw a lot of strikes. Excellent performance by Mr. Boyd. Now let's win this game guys.

Big Christmas left no doubt, once again.

WTF is going on with the home plate ump? That's two innings in a row he totally missed a strike 3 call that would have ended the inning. Fortunately the Guards got out of both innings but that one took a very nice play by Nails to do so. There is no excuse for missing pitches that badly.

He’s missed some low, too. Inconsistent strike zone. Too much legal weed before the game?

Went from a 9-8 slugfest last night to a 2-1 pitcher's duel tonight but the good guys won them both. Outstanding job by Matt Boyd and the bullpen and just enough O to get the win. Mr. Clase with his 4th save in 4 days. Let's get the sweep tomorrow guys.

GO GUARDS!

Very nice win! Boyd gave them what they needed and Big Christmas with another well timed bomb, some solid bullpen work and enough D for four wins in a row. Sweep these bums!

Speaking of Boyd, I remember hearing an interview on the radio with some MLB insider whose name I cannot recall, but I think it was Keith Law, and he said there are only about five organizations in all of MLB that know how to develop pitchers. The Guardians being the top of the list, along with Tampa Bay, so he basically said any pitcher looking to reclaim his career should get with one of those organizations. Glad to see Boyd here.

Clase is getting no love in the Cy Young discussions. Not saying he should win, but he deserves a mention. You cannot see his ERA or WHIP unless you have a magnifying glass.

Between MLB.com and ESPN, they barely acknowledge baseball is being played outside of New York, LA, Baltimore and Boston..,except they are aware of Bobby Witt Jr, but not sure they know where he plays.

Much like last night with Mr. Boyd Guardians fans should be happy with Mr. Cobb's performance tonight. Very good performances by two veteran pitchers. Hopefully these two gentlemen will really solidify the starting rotation for the rest of the season. I assume they will be using Mr. Smith in the 9th tonight if it is still a save situation. Let's finish off the sweep guys.

Retro Indians day will happen at some point.

I admit, I clutched when I saw Barlow was going to be pitching the 9th but he got us there. I'll take it. Nice sweep of the Cubs, let's get em in Milwaukee!

PS I heard it's going to be Civale pitching for the Brewers Friday night.
