The Browns are in a talent pinch at wr which is why they tendered Eligh Moore and signed troubled Dionte Johnson.
Yet they didn't draft a wr
Before theses two moves the Browns top 3 pass catching threats were wr Jerry, te Njoku and…...maybe the rookie te they drafted from BG?
A rookie hand-off machine in 12 personnel doesn't need much more
Cut either knucklehead if they step out of line. Perhaps the Browns should have tried to sign Cooper or Keenan Allen, two bets while past their prime they could provide some guidance & leadership with the young rookie qb’s.
You have two rookie QB’s who are not physically dominant like a Josh Allen and the Browns have:
* not added any oline help from last year
Should have drafted a fatty
* are going with 2 rookie rb’s
* signed 2 troubled wr’s who while talented are troubled from a character standpoint
* #1 wr Jeudy has been a head case in the past but had a breakout year last season. Is he mentally ready to be a leader & #1 wr?
All QB’s but especially rookie QB’s need solid veterans around them for help. Just seems like the Browns are not helping the rookies to succeed.
Thanks for reminding us why this organization is not fit to take a flyer on one project QB, much less spending 3 picks on two project QBs in one draft, with an old, expensive, roster full of holes.
Seems more like the Browns did a few smart things in most of the first two days with the first four picks, and then went on a coke binge and yit all over their shoes.
I like the add of a "lightning RB" with Judkins, but that was a need to meet via an UDFA selection, for me, all things considered.
OL, safety, WR, and CB were not addressed with a single pick while 2 project QBs are taken with three picks - or worse yet, 2 project QBs and 2 good RBs taken with 5 picks. With the Browns roster as it is, that's just idiotic.
The NFL.com take here seems equally stupid. Grading each days picks like they were independent acts by disparate actors ? Comprehensively, our whole draft was goofy AF. I see A+, B-, and C-, day over day. Because they seem to have begun the draft with a great plan and went off into the weeds after their pick of the BG TE.
"Starting off with a good plan, half-completing it, and then inexplicably 'celebrating' that initial success by going off in a different direction because you are fools listening to the noise around you", that is what we just saw from the Browns "brain trust". THAT is why someone else should be spending the two first round picks next year, and I don't care if -
MAYBE - that means Jimmy telling Berry and DePo, "I'm firing you guys because you are too weak to tell me to, 'Shut up and sit down, Mr Haslam!'". All we have are assumptions of how the Haslam/Berry/DePo/Stefanski dynamics work, and a disjointed end result. With one strong voice, i.e. The Dorse, this doesn't happen.
