Cleveland Browns 2025 Edition

It’s time to move on from the dumpster fire of 2024. New year, new Browns.

The Cleveland Browns have plenty to look forward to next season as they lay the foundation for a brighter future. With the 2nd overall pick in the draft, they’re in prime position to select a franchise-altering talent, whether that’s a game-changing quarterback or another cornerstone player to build around. With the news today, the certainty of a new quarterback under center adds a fresh sense of hope and excitement for the offense, signaling a new era of leadership and direction. I’m looking forward to moving on from the previous mistake at the position.

Additionally, the Browns boast a roster with several key pieces already in place. The defense has shown flashes of potential, with standout players like Myles Garrett anchoring the pass rush and a young secondary that continues to develop. If the front office can strengthen the supporting cast through free agency and later draft picks, the team’s defensive unit could take a significant step forward, or at least back to the level they played in 2023.

The coaching staff will also have the opportunity to refine their schemes and capitalize on this offseason’s resources to reimagine the team’s identity. Dorsey is out and anyone has to be an upgrade from what we saw this year. Hard to blame it all on him, but still. Also, Cleveland’s passionate fan base remains one of the best in the league, providing unwavering support and creating an incredible home-field advantage at FirstEnergy Stadium. But what about that new dome plan?

With a high draft pick, a new quarterback, and a chance to reset and refocus, the Browns are set to emerge stronger, more competitive, and poised to make a statement in the AFC North. Better days are ahead for Cleveland!

How long until the Browns have a new owner?

What do they do with the #2 pick?

What happens to Chubb?

Who starts week one at QB?

Well, since Deion would certainly include the Browns on the list he would not let his son play for, it won't be him. Besides, there have been some misgivings about his actual skills floating around. Besides, who needs the headache of the prima donna dad tweeting every time something goes wrong and interfering.

Deion Sanders reiterated his intention to influence Shedeur's NFL draft decisions. Speaking on the Tamron Hall Show while promoting the new season of his Coach Prime documentary series, the head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes and father of star quarterback Shedeur Sanders boldly declared that there are "a couple of teams" he will not allow his son to play for. Although he did not disclose which teams he had in mind, Sanders emphasized his unique insight into professional football, stating, "This is my profession. I know what’s behind the curtain."

I’m not disappointed by this because I don’t think he’s a top flight qb. That said, I also believe Deion knows what he is talking about. It’s a little different situation than the OBJ one. Deion had a long, successful career and is surely an intelligent dude, whether we like the antics or not.

I assumed that his son was an adult and responsible for his own decisions, but I guess I was wrong, which is why the Browns should not even consider him.

Of course, they are the organization that signed the worst contract in the history of football, so how could anyone conclude that they have any idea of what they are doing? So, both parties would be better off if they stayed away from each other.

Speaking of the worst contract -presuming Watson is through in Cleveland ( another situation in which both parties are better off without the other), he would have made $12,105,263,20 for every game he played.

Yeah, I did the math on that when I heard about the retest. My goal is to not mention his name in 2025 🤣

If you are the Browns management and are convinced that you need a qb badly, do you trade the #2 pick and your second round pick #33 to the Vikings for JJ McCarthy and their first round pick?

I would think it would be foolish of someone not to listen to their father's advice even at the age of 21-22. John Elway's old man told his son the same thing (basically not to sign with Baltimore Colts) worked out well for John.

Browns aren't getting a new owner. Jimmy is an effing dullard but even he's not dumb enough to sell an NFL team, the world's greatest money printing press. He paid $987 million for the franchise in 2012. It is now worth north of $5 billion. Short of him getting caught in a compromising position with a barn full of farm animals and the league forcing him out, he'll be here for a long while.

Stefanski is also here for a while. The guy is a two-time NFL Coach of the Year and has won with awful QBs like Brissett, Flacco and Winston. His play calling is frustrating as hell at times but he's not a primary issue.

The team is not wholly without talent and has some players but they are obviously hamstrung by the pervert's contract which I put at the feet of Jimmy and Berry. They mortgaged the team for a guy who had: 1) quit on his former team; 2) an obvious suspension ahead of him; 3) not played in a year; 4) told them he didn't want to come to Cleveland; and 5) never played in a play action system.

Sorry, I can't be optimistic with the triumvirate of Haslam, Berry and Depo in decision making roles.

As for the other questions: Chubb is gone unless he gives a very big hometown discount; some also ran veteran starts the season at QB: they trade the number 2 so that Berry can show everybody how smart he is.

This is supposed to be the new and improved positive forum for the Browns in 2025. 🤣

Now , this is something I could get behind.

Connor Hughes of SNY predicted them to do just that, predicting they’d select Abdul Carter after trading the No. 2 pick to the New York Giants.

The Giants aren’t expected to be a great team next year, and Hughes’ trade idea would send the Browns New York’s No. 3 pick, a third-rounder in this draft, and a 2026 first-round pick.

If we trade back and get a first rounder in next years draft as well, I’m all for it. Especially to a team like the Giants.

If this is true, then the bidding for Shadeur could pocket some good returns for the Browns.

Gee, who would have possibly thought Prime would bail on Colorado as soon as his kids were done there? Me and millions of others. Could see this one coming a mile away.

Assuming justin fields will get a stefanski a chance.
He's no more appropriate than the last guy you told us would lead them to the playoffs. A career 14-30 running QB is not the answer.

Don't get me wrong, I think it would be a great story. I just don't think his skill set is the answer.

I can't see the Raiders having any interest in Sanders as a coach. If Davis was making those decisions on his own, then perhaps. But with Brady being involved now, they're not going to bring the circus to town.

Good point. Finally an adult in the room.

It be a stop.gap.

It's not like Chubb is going to have a big market. I don't think it'll be that difficult to keep him around and provides good PR for a team badly in need of it.

I sure hope. The guy shows up even when he's injured while at the same time working harder than anybody to get back.
