CJ Eagles looking for new head coach

Tri-Village posted their HC job.
That means Burke went somewhere...........
I have no idea where, but who else is still open nearby?

Heard a previous assistant from awhile back put in for it. Also some were trying to convince Puckett to do it. Issue is he would want to keep current teaching job and be an out of building coach.

Would Mark Raetz would be interested in this job? It’s a name I remember hearing bounce around before Colvin got hired. I believe he has ties back to CJ with Coach Place (OC of the 2002 state champs?) and has head coaching experience in Indiana. I wonder if AD Anthony Turner, QB of that team, would bring in his old OC?

Why can’t CJ keep a coach? What is the issue the pay? Struggle to get kids? I’m honestly asking im sure Beavercreek has better pay but CJ seems like a much better job then Creek football. Also lost a coach to Fairborn I believe(correct me if im wrong) but theres no way Fairborn is a better job then CJ

Yeah and he's not coaching anymore because he got charged with domestic violence and endangering his kid. I think the opportunity to go from being an assistant back to your alma mater to be the HFC is a good thing. The other assistant went to Xenia to be their HFC. I don't personally think either was one all that at CJ. Colvin and Valentine ran the show for the Eagles.

Not sure what you mean by keep a coach? The two assistants were offered head coaching jobs. Sure the talent isn’t on par with CJ but I’m sure they had aspirations to be head coaches? Hardin was an alumnus of Fairborn also. As for Colvin, he was there for 11 years! Coaches come and go all across the area and he was a staple in the Miami Valley! Colvin was CJ and gave everything he had for that school and those kids. I’m sure Beavercreek gave him an offer he couldn’t resist for the betterment of his family. I highly doubt there’s any hard feelings between Colvin and CJ.

Hell Colvin was there for a good amount of time and the bottom line is these privates don't pay squat and there's no retirement so any coach looking to do this for a career has to think twice about these jobs. CJ is a solid program, so I suspect they'll end up with some young buck or some old cat ready to head off to pasture.

Heard Earl White applied and interviewed. That would be a great hire for them. Winner and get kids in school.
Imagine the Alter/CJ game if Earl gets the gig, Double Wing vs Wishbone offenses. Game starts at 7:00, over by 8:15. Woody and Bo would be proud to watch this one.

Any word on this job as far as where they are at in the process? Top candidates? Almost 2 months and it sure is quiet…

Who has been running the show for the past few months? Waiting this long to name a Head Coach doesn't go well for programs. They should have named someone or given it to whoever has been leading the offseason program. The athletes should know who their coach is going to be. The staff deserves to know if the new coach will want them or not. Typically when a coaching search takes this long, players and coaches bail. I understand everyone wants a big name, but if you can't come to terms with that person, move on to someone who WANTS to be there to coach.

Obviously CJ is not an attracting job once coaches apply or sit in the interview process; Almost April... no Head Coach...I would bet its a major political or administrative dilemma behind closed doors.

Bring in Jim Place as interim head coach. Let him pick his successor and allow him to groom him for the job in two years. Coach Place would be great in this situation and CJ would win.

That sounds great, but does he want it? He's got a decent gig calling the Thursday night games and I saw him in the stands at a couple of games this past season on Friday nights.

I hope he does well at the creek. It is a tough job but you can win SOME there with the right coach and system. Throwing and RPO will not work there. Need to focus on running the ball like wing T or option team.
Truth, but the creek parents think that their boys are built just like the rest of the GWOC.... they are not

Would Turner hire himself for the job? Gotta feel like we’re in crunch time now. As much as I would love Place, I don’t see it happening. Not worth the headache for him at this stage of his life.

Aren't they like supposed to be doing offseason lifting? Wouldn't it be hard to lift not knowing who your coach will be this coming season?
