Canton McKinley Football 2024

Source? I highly doubt that would happen during Massillon week and would occur at season conclusion.
The head coach at Akron Hoban would be absolutely nuts to take the McKinley job! You might as well ask Chuck Kyle formerly of Cleveland St. Ignatius to come out of retirement and coach the Bulldogs.....a fantasy!!

So we are just taking the word of two posters that have been having wet dreams about Halls departure???
Give us sources...
This can't be verified on Yappi. If there's not a press release, it's hearsay wishful thinking.
I know how hard Hall works to better these kids and be a father figure. Be careful what you wish for. Coach Hall is the only person that can MAKE MCKINLEY GREAT AGAIN!

How could you mistake the band being on the field when they were playing and marching? I don't understand it either but, I know the Mck team isn't blind or deaf.
I have no idea how they could make that mistake I’m just trying to give em the benefit of the doubt bcuz I’ve just never seen anything like that. It just makes no sense for it to have happened. Hopefully they right their wrong somehow and learn from it.

Im with ya don't see why they would do it either but they did. No reason to sugar coat it the band wasn't invisible. A mistake is mistake and not intentional. They knew what they were doing and still did it.

Years ago during pregame their band formed a tunnel for the team to come out through and the team came on the field from a different area. If I remember correctly that was the old Fawcett days.

The video I saw, it appeared that the cheerleaders put their run through sign in a very poor place, right where the small O in script Ohio was being formed by the band.

Two questions come to my mind.

1. Could the football team have avoided running through the sign to NOT run through the bands performance?

2. Why, and by whom, was the team released before the band was done performing their pregame?

#2 is what I was wondering. Nothing to do with cheerleaders placement of run through sign they should of never been released to run on the field in the first place while the band was still performing.

Are you literally being serious or do you just want a guaranteed W week 10 for Massillon each year with Hall. Because that’s what Hall brings.

Agreed. If the team wasn't released early, my money is that the cheerleaders would have noticed that they were in a bad spot, and moved the sign.

I disagree. You know as well as I do that the job requires an understanding of the community and the full support of the administration. I believe Hall is one of, if not the only one who is just that. Let's face it, the HC at McKinley's is not an ordinary or easy job. Just ask Matt Richardson.
This whole band issue is very unfortunate, but certainly not the head coaches responsibility. The bottom line is he can't beat Massillon, welcome to the club!!!
I believe given time, he can be one of Cantons all-time best coaches.

I think is more than just the coaches I feel like it's a community effort that needs to be addressed. As much as I hate McKinley I feel bad for the children when they come out and there is no support in the stands but yet when they do something wrong everybody has to say and bashes them but yet you won't even come support them it doesn't make sense to me. Now the one thing I do blame coach Hall for is you have to build within one thing that I give Coach Moore a tremendous amount of respect for it was bringing in former Massillon players to be coaches because they understand what it takes to be a Tiger thru and thru. I feel like McKinley was trying to make publicity stunts by hiring former Massillon players as coaches to pretty much get back at Massillon for whatever reason the coaches that are not at Massillon is at McKinley now instead of actually hiring coaches who have a passion for Canton McKinley football guys that have poured out sweat blood and tears for that program and I'm not saying that the coaches that they got from Massillon are bad coaches because they are not by no means but there are guys walking around Canton right now who truthfully will give everything for that program and those type of guys need to be coaches to instill into the kids what it takes to be a bulldog. I can remember growing up watching McKinley players warm up during the Massillon and McKinley game and you could literally see the hatred in their eyes for Massillon you don't see that no more I got some inside scoops where word out on the street is these kids already gave up they expect to lose Saturday which is crazy because that was never the case at Canton McKinley but now it is so in my opinion it's more than just a coaching issue.

Since we’re speaking of rumor and conjecture, if there is a coaching change at McKinley one name I would like to see is Scott Garcia. Yes he is having a terrible year at Glenoak but has had a lot of success in the past. He was a finalist for the McKinley job years before if I’m not mistaken. He understands the community, brings discipline, and would run an offense that prioritizes running the football.

Maybe its a Diversionary tactic to motivated the coaches and team to win one for the Gipper ???
You'd have to admit, if the Dawgs win everything is hunky dory. If they loose, it may be the last straw. I predict mckinley draws first blood and are up 13-0. Massillon scores the next 28 points for the win. Mckinley goes on to lose in the regional final to Eds

I don't know how public school pensions go but that could be a reason plus maybe some of the private schools are tightening up their entrance requirements and that hurts their program. Also a really nice compensation package plus he wouldn't have to move the family. These are just guesses for any private school coaches. McKinley does still have some really good athletes plus some really good athletes have went elsewhere because of coaches and if you got one in that is a proven winner and name recognition and one other thing it does look like the CCS system seems to be headed in what looks like the right direction. New school buildings others being renovated etc. etc. But whoever needs a good coaching staff at all levels and that always seems to be a challenge also. IMO no more past football players. That ship has sailed and it has not worked.

I hear both Nick Saban and Bill Belichick are available, if we're being serious here.

Much of this all is over reaction. A fella stepped up when the school was in a pinch late late in May and early June to hire a new guy due to unforeseen circumstances.
Hall was given a chance to see what he could do. Now here we are. Let the season run its course and THEN if you are so moved to see change speak to the appropriate people. To take your agenda or gripes to an online chat about a person's employment - justified or not - is a bad look. I am not advocating for anyone nor am I going to light a torch and get pitchforks out.
If you do support the kids at least let them finish their season.

I case you don't know this is what chat sites are for. Right or wrong. Have you ever been to Bucknuts or Eleven Warriers sites for Ohio Stare football? Or any sports fan sites? If we cross the line then Yappi can delete the post.

I was speaking to the people that say they are fans or support the program.

If we go down 13-0 I don't like our chances at all.

Nick Saban will be back coaching at the college level in a year or two. Maybe Alabama and Belichick will probably be coaching Dallas so try again?
Hes being sarcastic and putting it nicely by saying Mck has about as good of shot as landing them two as they do of getting Tyrell to Leave Hoban for the Trainwreck at Mck.

I realize he was being sarcastic and It only takes one good coach to turn it around. i also realize Tyrell isn't coming to McKinley but you never know what a public school pension might do.

my first post in this forum but from what I hear around town , no one wants the Mck job anymore . It comes with too much stress and baggage . I admire Coach Hall for his efforts . Too bad things have changed for the worse ..growing up in Canton, the Mck job was THE JOB not onlyin Stark County ,but in the entire state .

First of all, the McKinley job is actually a great job. Hall is the assistant AD but it's in name only. He has 1 job: coach football. That's it. That's all he has to do. I guarantee Moore does more work day to day in the Massillon athletic department than Hall does. There are coaches in this state teaching 5 classes. There are coaches in this state teaching in one building and coaching in another. There are coaches in a different distrct than where they are. Not in Canton. Full time salary plus supplementals to ONLY coach football. It's incredible. But everyone wants to blame the kids for why McKinley can't win. Even the people in Canton do it. "Oh they aren't raised right" "The parents don't care" "They don't listen".
Here's a question: who are Hall's assistants and what have they accomplished in this game? Gimme the list.
Maybe, just MAYBE he's assembled a bad staff that can't coach. And for someone who's only job is to coach high school football, that should be unacceptable. But as I've said before, no one cares, and that's the biggest reason McKinley is about to lose their 9th straight to Massillon.

The " no one cares " part will be the hardest to get back . Mck were Fed Champs last yr ? No one went to the games .The fanbase that used to go every week to every game has gotten much older and or passed away. Teams that go 0-10 ,1-9 every yr have more support and fan turn out . Sans the Massillon game , not may people attend games anymore . Its generational change

Nope Im Mr Diamond . Your just the velvet that worships the Diamond . I was Stark County football inthe 60s/70s Your just another Massillon homer who knows Massillon cant win state championships without recruiting outside of your district .. SWO never respected Massillon ..NWO either .They laugh at the Massillon fans and lack of teeth etc...Now i dont bc i know Stark County . I respect strippers first ladys and etc... good football is good football and Massillon should probably get to final four but then Hoban will trounce them this yr ..Massillon yr maybe in 2 more yrs for another title
