Galena Park North Shore 15-0 and ranked #6 in the nation by USA Today takes on USA Today #5 Duncanville 14-0 for the Texas 6A Div 1 state championship in AT&T Stadium Saturday night at 7:00 pm Central on Fox SW.

Probably more D-1 talent in this game than any Texas state championship game in a long time.

Looking forward to this one. Commentators just said over 30 D1 recruits on the field in this game

North Shore wins 41-36 over Duncanville in the game of the year in Texas.
There were 8 lead changes in the game. Talent galore with 30+ players with division 1 offers . This game had it all.

Duncanville scored with about a minute left in the game to take the lead.
North Shore drove down to about the 40 and then had a holding penalty to move them back to the 50. With 2 seconds on the clock North Shore threw a Hail Mary that that was caught in the back corner of the end zone. It was a spectacular leaping catch that was heavily contested by several D-ville players. Class 6A div 1 champions - the North Shore Mustangs of Galena Park, a blue collar industrial area of South East Houston

It was a fantastic ending to a fantastic 4 days of high school football. 42,000 fans attended the North Shore game. Earlier in the day a crowd of 48,000 fans watched another classic in which Longview won the Class 6A Div 2 title 36-35 over Beaumont Westbrook.

All told close to 240,000 fans watched the championship games at AT&T Stadium over the 4 day stretch. I don't think any other state comes close to that type of fan support and enthusiasm. A legendary classic that displayed great talent, coaching, effort and a championship no quit mentality by both teams. Heck of a way to close out the high school season !
