Christian Yelich and Paul Goldschmidt on pace to hit 162 HR this season. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that would be a record I think.

Jay Bruce hammered another home run and Albert Pujols had an RBI and now needs just 12 more for 2,000 career rbi's.

Encarnacion hit #386. Is closing on Johnny Bench with 3 more.
Albert Pujols gets #638

Curtius Granderson at 335. One more and he ties Joe Adcock.

Encarnacion has had a great career no doubt. But look at Pujols numbers... he is only 3 years older than EE and they both came into the league at about the same age.
It gives some perspective as to how dominant Albert was in his prime. The first 11 or 12 years of his career he was arguably the most feared hitter in baseball.

You are right. Can't go wrong with the numbers Pujols is putting up.

Ask the Angels. Pretty sure they feel they "went wrong". Last year they payed $27M for a 38 year old that hit .245 with 19HR and 64 RBI. They owe him $28M for this year, $29M for 2020, and $30M for 2021 at age 41. Yep, they went wrong...

Pujols has a decent shot at passing Hank Aaron for both the HR and RBI totals before he retires.
