All Things Star Wars

I'm not feeling any great temptation to watch Acolyte. I really fought to not like Bad Batch and remarked on it here. Didn't really have anything to do with the original movies and the idea of superheroe clones...seemed much too much invention in order to compete with other franchises. But the characters and story arc were too good.

IMO, Acolyte did more to expand the Star Wars Universe than any project in the last 20 years.

It’s not perfect, but a lot better than it’s given credit for. A cast member said something fans didn’t like during the press tour and much of the fanbase turned on it before episode 1 ever aired.

I wouldn't know anything about the real life stuff. It just doesn't sound interesting to me. Skeleton Crew I gave a start. Didn't care for story or acting so tossed it. Andor and Ahsoka I watched first season. Second Season Andor I watched first two episodes and haven't been excited to continue, finding other things to watch. Goes into the binge columns. Ahsoka probably also, it has a main character/actor (the witch) I don't care for and there's too little story or fun per episode. They're dragging it out like they are Madalorean. Might have worked better for me as a movie.

The main argument/problem I have with The Acolyte is that it totally compromises all of the canon. I don't mind the diverse casting, but when the director makes it one of her objectives to make white people cry, then I shy away from taking it serious. I still watched it, but my takeaway was that if this was canon, the Episode 1 is all wrong because the timeline was messed with. I refuse to use the word "woke" it just sounds ignorant to me.

How does it compromise cannon?

I have a question about Star Wars as I just watched A new Hope the other night ( first time in awhile) .Why was Obi Won Kenobi living like a hermit on Tatooine? Was he secretly making sure nothing happened to Luke?

Yes. His mission was to protect Luke “from afar” as he grew up.

You’ll find out why in future films.

REACCCTTTT TO MEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! Please answemy queston Star Wars pros .
...after Order 66 any remaining living Jedi went into hiding. Luke and Leia were split up to prevent the Empire from finding them. Leia was taken to Alderaan to be raised by Senator Organa, and Luke was taken to Tatooine to live with his Aunt and Uncle. Kenobi lived in hiding as a hermit to keep from revealing his whereabouts and watched Luke from afar. I think that about answers it. Watch Episode 3 and the Kenobi series on Disney+.

so in a nutshell . Anikan ( Darth Vader) drilled ( had sex) with Padme and had Luke and Leia . And they were twins kinda? And why did Leia kiss Luke on the lips ? That was a little incestuously creepy. But i think I got it now

You can probably get episode 3 on vhs I suppose. As for Disney+, I dont have a smart tv either. I just subscribed to it and use my phone to watch it. Disney bought Star Wars so its all on there if its really something youre interested in.

ok cool. thank you for the info.

Tales of the Underworld: only 15 minutes/episode so not a lot lost if it's not to taste. First ep was kind of blah but intriguing enough to be worth 15 minutes more.

They didn’t know they were brother and sister at the time they kissed (the writers also hadn’t decided that yet).

Season two of Andor is proof that Disney can in fact do Star Wars and do it incredibly well. A slow burn with incredible payoffs that’s outstanding in every way.

Star Wars for adults isn’t your thing?

Good acting, interesting and well paced plot involving characters with gravitas, depth and believability, signs of intelligence are my thing. I've seen none of that. Its one value is filling in a minor point D to point F in the overall story.

After Andor’s end this is how I rate the Star Wars series.

A

A new Hope
Empire Strikes Back
Clone Wars
Rebels
Rogue One
Andor

B
Return of the Jedi
Revenge of the sith
Bad Batch
Force Awakens
The mandolorian

C
The last Jedi
Rise of Skywalker
Phantom Menace
Solo
Kenobi
Ahsoka

D
Acolyte
Resistence

F
Book of Boba Fett
Attack of the clones

The worst of the worst imo is Boba Fett. An awful series that went no where and had an inexplicable mini season of the mandolorian packed in for zero reason.

At least acolyte was trying to go somewhere
