Here are the restaurants and retailers in Akron and elsewhere in Summit County that were cited for the most food inspection violations during the 2018-2019 inspection year ending Feb. 28, according to state records.
Of the 3,159 establishments cited during the year, 1,116 received more than five citations.
A small number, including those listed below, had dozens of violations, as determined by the Summit County Health Department. Those listed below had at least 36 violations each in 2017-18. See these links for the lists for the previous three inspection years - 2017-18, 2016-17 and 2015-16.
Each restaurant in Ohio is inspected twice a year as a standard, plus follow-up inspections as needed, usually to check on identified problems. Other places handling food to a lesser extent may be inspected once a year.
