haha all good! I watched some of the finals on Spectrum. Didn't pay as much attention as I usually would without much representation from NEO.

Non football related but Stow lost to Cuyahoga Falls in Hoops a few days ago. I would bet it's been quite a few years since that has happened. Maybe there's just a downward trend now in talent in Stow.

Stow basketball will be fine. Dave Close is an outstanding coach who has been the head coach for over 30 years. He has taken Stow to the final 4 twice, regional finals multiple times. Even his bad seasons he always has an above 500 winning team. A couple of his teams even finished in the national rankings. I also remember several years ago I don't know if there was any truth to this but I heard Canton McKinley contacted him about being their head basketball coach but he turned it down choosing to stay at Stow where he grew up and went to school. Close's brother also played for Stow and was player of the year in summit county. Very good player.

I am well aware of the greatness of Coach Close. He's one of the best to ever coach in Ohio. My point really isn't an indication of him or his program, I just know Stow has really dominated Falls for the last decade plus and a Falls win might help illustrate the downward talent trend now which is also hurting football.

Anyone have the schedule for next season? How’s “voluntary” lifts going in the new field house? Haven’t seen anything posted inside of it. Seems like they aren’t pushing the fieldhouse pictures out to the public. Who is running the weight room for them these days? Any coaching staff changes? A lot of unanswered questions around the team next season?

Key returners?
Key new comers?

I've heard there are some PIA parents causing problems behind the scene there.

It’s December, most districts wait till after holiday.

I wouldn't read to much into win/loss records in youth football. Too many variables. You can judge a youth program on a few metrics, IMO. First, is overall enrollment vs the high schools size. If 20% of the boys in the grade are playing, you'd think they would have a better program than a community with only 10% of their boys playing. And not as good as a town with 30% of its boys playing. Second is retention rate. Are you keeping kids or are they dropping out of game before HS? Third is the program philosophy. Pretty subjective though. I'm sure all of their mission statements talk about development, sportsmanship, etc. But are they living that? If not, I'd say it isn't a good program.

If I had all the data above and had the time to truly investigate each program without knowing anything about their HS w/l record, I'm positive that I could tell you which schools won more than they lose.

Does anybody know who is in charge of the money spending? That’s the other big problem besides the coach’s the AD could be better but the money spending person my god. The Feildhouse costs 6 million to build but it isn’t big enough for football team to use besides the weight room it has a volleyball court and maybe help for a different sport BUT NOT THE DIRECT THING FOOTBALL. They should have for 1. Waited till they had money for it to be for football besides weight room. And 2. Used a 1 million to build an electric scoreboard! Electric Scoreboard lets you host playoffs for neutral sites charge $10 for parking and you’ve got money. You’re likely to be selected at least once if not twice if lucky to host a game!

Issue for Stow in the past regarding hosting playoff games is a lack of restrooms for occupancy. Exceeding a certain number required them to add restrooms at the far end of the stadium I believe. At least this is what I recall the issue being several years ago.

Ummmm, electric? Are they currently using a manual scoreboard?

And their visitor bleachers are so unsturdy that if there wasn't a hill underneath them they could very well collapse. I have never in my life experienced something like the way those bleachers shook. You would get whiplash almost from someone walking up or down the bleachers.

They skipped fixing the stadium issues to fix the roof of the high school, along with some bricking on the building that was failing and then build the fieldhouse.

Track coach are disgusted with the condition of the track as well. They patch the track instead of resurfacing. It’s almost so bad that they can’t hold home events. Remember they just had a national champion track runner a few years ago.

The priorities of the admin are not in the correct order.

Thank you. Does anyone know who is the admin themselves?

No leadership thru the years plus no planning, it goes way back
