2025 Stow-Munroe Falls Football

That place is now the Doodle Drive In. I went when they first opened and it was... ok. But people rave about it now so maybe they were still trying to get their footing when I went? I did go there literally on the 2nd day they were open for service.
I haven't been there in at least 7 years. Maybe longer. Same fries? Or did they change that too? Was going to add them to my list of places to stop while out and about in the spring months. I plan to take in a few Walsh and/or CVCA baseball games.

Completely new ownership. Based on the pictures of their food, Their fries look good, but their onion rings look even better.

The owners are a local group who own the Retro Dog, Clutch Lanes up the street and Rise and Shine in Falls. They may have other spots but I know it's a group who runs them all in some capacity.

This is quite an interesting thread I must say.

I've been seeing this thread hovering at the top of the football forum for some time now. I was really glad to see it because I thought that Stow had some positive football news going on...just now finding out it is about the restaurants.

So I'll throw in my $.02. We go to Old Carolina Barbecue Company at least once a week. They know our order as soon as we walk in the door. Their chicken tenders are some of the best around. Also go to Texas Roadhouse quite a bit. Good food and decent prices. There is a Wingstop that just opened but haven't been there yet. A Wayback Burger is supposed to be opening soon. Looking forward to trying that place.

This is the early favorite for Yappi Thread of the Year.

Couldn't agree more, they always say there is more to life than football, and this thread shows that.

Also, going out of Stow here, Toko Japanese Steak House on 59 in Kent, has all you can eat sushi for $24.99, and let me tell you, I have gotten my moneys worth there. Highly recommend if you like sushi.

I think thats a common trend in the City of Stow, leaving for greener pastures. We should get a "Stow Letter of Intent for Lunch" put together for the public to bring in more revenue for the city.
Call the Stow Sentry. Special announcement! I'm giving my commitment right here - the next time I am in the western reserve area, I pledge that I will go to a restaurant in Stow. :)

Kent has a great selection of restaurants, a lot of variety, local places and chains to pick from. Big fan of Rays Place.

Stow has its fair share of local joints, Tip Top, Pancho and Lefty's to name a few.
Downtown Kent, Rays Place, the southern kitchen inside of The Venice is excellent and Taco Tontos. Can't go wrong with any of them.

I like Stow a lot. The lack of a downtown/commons type of area just makes it feel like it's lacking just a bit though, especially with Kent, Falls and Hudson having really nice downtown areas.

There used to be a place over towards Walsh that had great fries. It was an old school drive in place. Had hot dogs and ice cream too.
Yes, I ate there in the summer a couple of times, had burgers, hot dogs, french fries and ice cream. I think it shut down during and because of the pandemic.

What do people think about Wing Warehouse and Handel's in the plaza? I'm a huge fan of wings, so wondering if it's a good postgame eatery.

I prefer Wing Warehouse over The Basement but both are good. Warehouse is ran better IMO.
The one time I got carry out from Wing Warehouse there was only 1 table of people and the floor was sticky when I was walking to get my food. Maybe it was just a bad day for them when I got carry out.

I haven't been to the Basement in Stow yet, but have been to other locations. I've been to the Wing Warehouse in Stow and CF. I can't remember too much about either place other than they both have typical bar food. But I think I like the wings at the wing warehouse better. Doesn't the Basement have bands on the weekends? That can be good or bad depending on the band and what you are in the mood for.

I want to say the Basement in the Falls has bands? That one is more open. The Stow one is much nicer. All I know if their special BBQ is amazing and I would recommend you get their crispy chicken wrap with it on.

I have to try the new place. Retro Dog was OK, but the last couple times my wife and I went, we waited over 30 minutes for our food. It was OK but not worth the wait. I always got the impression they were operationally in over their head and couldn't get orders out fast enough but we might've just caught them on 2 bad days.
I didn't have a lot of experience with Retro Dog. But from what I recall, it was pretty blah except for the fries which were outstanding.

We like the Basement in the Falls...great sports bar vibe, good food at decent prices. Love catching a Guardians game there. I can't comment on the one in Stow but it looks much brighter inside than the Falls location.

El Campesino's good for some good old Mexican. More chips please! LOL.

Pancho and Lefty's is right up there too, but for some reason I don't hit them as often. I'll have to put them in the rotation.

Was just gonna say this. Falls Basement is a great place to catch a game. I like the covered patio part.
