2025 Stow-Munroe Falls Football

I've heard the Twisted Tomato that's in there now is good but haven't tried it. There's three of them in the area now.

All within the last 3-4 years.
LEt Smoove throwify Smoove's recommendation behind Twisted Tomato. They gots solid specials on certain days and it is a $7 calzone and that bad boy is HUGE! Little bit greasy, but Smovoe think it is the bombification. Pizza is good, too! Ain't eated at that particular one in Stow, but beent to the downtown Crackron one and it is great. Have a beer wall too, so you can get lit while enjoyifyin' some great food!!

Mexican or The Basement.
Basement is solid. Eherplace that have wings gets crazy 'spensive, but the size of Basement wings are the same as what SMoove hearifies from the chickies....Much Bigger than they Thought! Truth! Sauce-wise, gotta try the Kaluger Sauce!!! Smoove's go to order is 12 Double-Grilled Kalugers! Y'all, Smoove be droolifyin' on hisself right now wantin' some of those!!!! Smoove like PAnini's okay too, on Steel Corner and Route 8. Mexican joint on 91 near where Fishcreek come in in that plaza across from that intersection have beent really good too!

It was a good spot and I agree when the new owners took over it was even better before they sold.

Only been once since it's been Mexican. Food was fine. Just no reason to go back. Many other options closer to me.
I know a little about ye olde Tavern of Stow. They worked their butts off, delivered a good restaurant, but COVID crushed em. They needed to sell and did. They had some good ideas and executed said good ideas but couldn't overcome what happened.

I wish the new restaurant could have been something other than Mexican food as I think Mexican food in Ohio is bland and over done.

Travel out west to California, Texas, Arizona or Vegas and you'll hate Mexican food in Ohio.

I love Ohio but our Mexican food is like if a bunch of Brits or Germans took over operations. Bland!

The Mexicans running Mexican food in Ohio aren't dumb; they know they need to make Mexican food like it's hearty meat & potatoes like it's Bob Evans.

Runny bland salsa, gloppy sloppy & bland refried beans.....my best advice is to ask your local Mexican place to spice up the refried beans or just ask for black beans with onions & jalapenos.

The Tavern of Stow had the right idea for Ohio; American food with a heavy Italian influence. Ohio does American & Italian food well.

Unfortunately it had to end.

I'll probably be heading through Stow tomorrow for the first time in a while around lunchtime. Where is the safest place to go? Or should I just keep driving and stop in Hudson instead? Was thinking about the Thai place or the Mexican place near the Stow/Hudson border on 91.
STO NUT Graham Road Plaza. Excellent breakfast and lunch , great service

I did the Japanese place in Hudson. Otani. Solid place - a little pricey for what you get, but that is Hudson.
Well, Smoove just ended Smoove's commentation after the word Japanese... "I did the Japanese" Smoove do 'em all, all creeds, colors, races, religions, but only one sex, though, y'all.....call Smoove sexist, then, y'all, but Smoove is "EXIT ONLY" baybee!!! Smoove ain't gots no ill-will toward anyone wanting to do it up thatta way, but Smoove ain't gonna partake in it. To eacht they own, is what Smoove belief, don't mean Smoove gots to play in that playground though.

Not only do we lose players to the Private schools, we lose business to Hudson. What are we doing to do with Stow?!?

I did see Stow had a big signing day. "Stow Letter of Intent" quite possibly the corniest thing I've ever seen. If you win games, you don't have to worry about your local kids leaving for private schools.

Now back to business, anyone know anything about Garretts Mill Diner over on Hudson Dr. Never been, but it looks good.

You know your football program is toast when a discussion about it turns into page after page of restaurant reviews.
I've been seeing this thread hovering at the top of the football forum for some time now. I was really glad to see it because I thought that Stow had some positive football news going on...just now finding out it is about the restaurants.

So I'll throw in my $.02. We go to Old Carolina Barbecue Company at least once a week. They know our order as soon as we walk in the door. Their chicken tenders are some of the best around. Also go to Texas Roadhouse quite a bit. Good food and decent prices. There is a Wingstop that just opened but haven't been there yet. A Wayback Burger is supposed to be opening soon. Looking forward to trying that place.

I've never been to Wayback Burger, but have heard great things about it. Where is that suppose to be going???

Garrett's Mill is one of my go to breakfast/lunch spots and great owners. They also employ some special needs people to help with the restaurant which is cool.

The Letter of Intent thing is kinda corny but many HS programs have been doing that for some time now.

I think there was a time it was a quality place. The amount of clutter in the store is a deal-breaker for me. The food is a typical breakfast restaurant fare. Nothing amazing. But it is cool about the special needs folks employed there.

It’s a 6.5/10

I've actually been there a few times. Good, but not great, breakfast. Very small inside and can get loud. Prices are similar to Yours Truly (high). Good change of pace place, but I wouldn't make your standard go to for breakfast. I'd head over to Streetsboro and go to Jim's Open Kitchen (if you can get a table - always busy, because it is great) if you want a great breakfast. Every time I have to go to Ravenna, I get off the turnpike in Streetsboro instead and stop at Jim's instead of taking the next exit.

This should be the tagline on all "Welcome to Hudson" signs
No kidding. Even the town shot & beer bar (Kepners) is overpriced.

I travel a lot. If I'm in an area that has a Coldstone ice cream place, I instantly know I'm paying $20 for a burger in the restaurants nearby instead of $10. Of course, I use that as a barometer as to where to get a hotel. If there is a Coldstone or Cheesecake Factory near the hotel, odds are it is a safe area. :)

4437 Kent Rd, Stow, OH 44224

Apparently where Master Pizza was located.
That doesn't bode well. That plaza has been a revolving door for businesses. It doesn't help that the ACME anchor in that plaza gets so little business due to its mismanagement and getting killed by the nearby Meijer and Giant Eagle. The only thing that has lasted in there is the Chinese Place that was one of the leaders in the recent list of health code violators.

Wayback is decent. 5 Guys has the best fries but I am not in to spending $20 for a meal in a burger joint.

Hopefully it can last in the plaza there. Thankfully our wonderful city administrators decided to go with something other than a Mexican joint.

There used to be a place over towards Walsh that had great fries. It was an old school drive in place. Had hot dogs and ice cream too.
That place is now the Doodle Drive In. I went when they first opened and it was... ok. But people rave about it now so maybe they were still trying to get their footing when I went? I did go there literally on the 2nd day they were open for service.
