2025 Miami Valley League

Agreed. I'm genuinely interested in how this all came to be.
Pretty clear that after they fumbled the entire process, AD was reportedly leaving for another AD job in the MVL (not happening), they had no choice but to suck up their pride and start recruiting. They got lucky that a HOF fame coach decided to take this challenge on, because that's exactly what it is.

Hopefully for the kids sake, this turns out to be the revival of their program!

Greenville missed the boat years ago by not pursuing Jay Niswonger. Greenville has a really great history, they just need the right guy with the right message. These kids are just like the kids in Versailles and Tri Village. Good luck!

Well Sidney fans how are you feeling about Kyle Colman as your new Head Football Coach?

I mean, he had one season as head coach at Paulding in 2013-2014 and has essentially been an assistant at Sidney since Doenges took over the program. I'm not sure what programs he has built and according to this page Sidney is a perennial underachiever. But good luck to him.

Troy will be D-1for football. Smallest D-1 school in Ohio
Does that mean Miamisburg stays in D2? How does this effect the MVL? Troy can't be D1 and stay in the MVL. They would get killed on points. Do we do a swap with the GWOC for Miamisburg? Imagine Troy having to go to St X, Lakota West, for a 1st round playoff game, oof! Also side note...how are Mason and Beavercreek so bad with that many boys in their school?

What competitive balance does Troy have that bumps them up? Are they open enrollment?
Troy has a CB of 15. They do seem to have open enrollment. If they had one less boy they would be the largest D2 in the state. They just missed the D2 cutoff. I expect them to be D1 Region 2. Thats the region all the GWOC schools are in, and last year there was only 17 teams in the region. Troy would really have to sh!+ the bed not to make the playoffs this year, as a 1-9 team made it in the region last year.

That makes the Troy job TOUGH. They can’t even compete in Region 8. If they want to be able to win a game or two in D1 playoffs they are going to need to diversify their offense.

Yes.
It doesn't. Look at D II Tecumseh in the CBC. It works.
Good Lord, no.
Well at least you get the kids to see what it feels like to play against top notch competition and maybe, just maybe that will light a fire under the kids and be more committed.
I only know Beavercreek and it's a soccer and girls basketball school.

Smitherman has improved every program he's been at. Beavercreek will never be elite because they don't value football. But they will be better.

Miamisburg will be D2, they are like 5 boys away from being D1 though.

D1 Region 2 is ultra competitive. Having to compete with the GWOC schools and some of the Columbus suburb schools is going to be brutal. Region 8 is a very strong Region, but D1 is just a different beast. Hopefully for Troy this is a 1 season thing.

I think your response to Bacon, should be Tipp needs to play up to better prepare themselves and not worry about Troy or anyone else in the MVL. Maybe, Tipp should add Watterson on an even scale or jump up to Massillon...maybe down grading to Glenville....maybe even taking a trip out east with Steubenville. He has much advice for the OHC to improve their playoff preparation and state standings but not much shade when looking out his patio window.

Tipp plays a schedule full of schools much bigger than them (Tipp is the second smallest school in the league). And have played and beaten one of the best teams in region 12 (Bellbrook, Regional Finalist this year) in their only out of conference game, each of the last 4 seasons, and had played Mt. Healthy in 2019. Tipp was in the final 4 two years ago and was the #1 seed last year. They’ve scheduled Versailles who won a state title a couple of years ago in their only OOC game in 2027. I think Tipp is doing just fine with scheduling. Those are all just facts but I’m sure facts aren’t something your looking for.
Looks like Tipp will be playing up against a D1 school this year anyway!

Christ All Mighty, Versailles? How about Marion Local or Coldwater if you want to dip in the D5 and under in the MAC world. Are you a bit testy? I don't care about your labor, show me the baby!!! You offered your opinion on OHC schools and I am offering mine on Tipp. Fair enough? BTW, when Tipp was in the CBC, what school actually went to a state finals game? Dude, if you played London or Watterson last year, you'd been smoked like a dime bag...and that is a fact you aren't looking for...

You do realize you can only play schools who have an opening right? Bellbrook scheduled Marion Local, ending Tipp and Bellbrooks annual week 1 matchup. So Tipp scheduled one of the top MAC schools in Bellbrooks place. Offer your opinion all you want, doesn’t mean it’s a good opinion. Tipp was in the CBC 10 years ago! Not sure how that’s relevant now

Maybe they should play Centerville or St. X. That will better prepare them. Who you play in week 1 just has a big impact on that week 11 playoff game.

He is mad because in the OHC thread I suggested the likes of Greenview, WLS and Mechanicsburg play some of the bigger D4 and D3 Dayton area schools like the MAC schools do. And so I guess he equates Greenview playing Xenia to Tipp playing St. X LMAO
