What do we think?

Region 24
Adena (Frankfort)
Anna (Anna)
Blanchester (Blanchester)
Chesapeake (Chesapeake)
Coldwater (Coldwater)
Covington (Covington)
Dayton Christian (Miamisburg)
Deer Park (Cincinnati)
Dixie (New Lebanon)
East Clinton (Sabina)
Huntington (Chillicothe)
Madison-Plains (London)
Mechanicsburg (Mechanicsburg)
Miami Valley Christian Academy (Cincinnati)
National Trail (New Paris)
Northeastern (South Vienna)
Paint Valley (Bainbridge)
Perry (Lima)
Portsmouth West (West Portsmouth)
Rock Hill (Ironton)
Southeastern (Chillicothe)
St Bernard-Elmwood Place (Saint Bernard)
Summit Country Day (Cincinnati)
Triad (North Lewisburg)
Tri-Village (New Madison)
Troy Christian (Troy)

No idea what St Bernard Elmwood Place returns but they made a nice run up into running into Coldwater. Summit Country Day could also be in that same boat.

As for teams in my neck of the woods. Portsmouth West should be a decent out just piecing together what they lost/return. Paint Valley will have a new coach and had some of their players transfer out also. Rock Hill lost their best player and second best transferred to Ashland KY. Chesapeake has a new coach so will see what they look like. Huntington/Southeastern I got nothing

1. Coldwater
2. Tri Village
3. Anna
4. Burg
5. Northeastern
6. Paint Valley
7. Madison Plains
8. Portsmouth West
9. St Bernard
10. Rock Hill
11. Adena
12. Summit Country Day
13. Chesapeake
14. Covington
15. Troy Christian
16. Blanchester

1-7 I have a pretty good idea of but 8-16… besides St Bernard and Adena really just tried to piece together what I knew about those teams

Swap 2 and 3 and you got it.

Anna will be battle tested. TV will not.

None of this matters though, because that team at 1 isn't losing to anyone here.

My take:
Coldwater- obviously
Anna - will be battle tested for sure

Next Tier
Tri Valley - always has really good athletes
Mechanicsburg- should return some very nice pieces but so have to replace their longtime Coach

Next Tier
Northeastern- Had a good 2024 and return some quality parts
Madison Plains - shocked many in 2024 and if it hadn’t been for a few injuries they likely would have beaten Rock Hill
West - return some nice skill kids but have to rebuild their line and do play a good schedule
Paint Valley - Return their QB and a receiver but lose a ton and had several players transfer out. Season ended with a lot of turmoil.

Next Tier:
Rock Hill - they do lose some kids but the new coach has them trending in the right direction
St. Bernard - Lost their all everything RB to graduation along with a few other nice pieces so not sure about them.
Huntington- I do expect them to be a good bit improved. They return a good bit and they did pick a transfer lineman from Chillicothe.

They lack of competitive teams from the Dayton area ( not including Anna/Coldwater) really hurts this Region.

Where did Coach Dye from Paint Valley go?

I agree Anna is the 2nd best team in the Region by a wide margin but they will see a couple losses (ML, Coldwater, and maybe one other?) Tri Village will most likely go into Week 11 9-1 or 10-0 in a very weak conference. I think they get the nod over Anna as the 2 seed

Forrest returns as HC for Burg

Not sure I’ve seen a more top heavy region in my life… obviously Coldwater will be in the D6 state championship and/or Anna right there to compete also but hoping Burg can at least get back to Piqua/Sidney this year. Last 2 years Burg has been young and dealt with a lot of injuries, good freshman class, a little low in number but the talent is there. Burg will be probably the most pass heavy team in the Region. Which for a lot of people is surprising but last year they did a lot of 4 out and empty back field. After starting RB got injured 1st series of the season they never really had an efficient run game like in years past. Although, they do Return 3 RBs, both QBs who “split drives” 2nd leading receiver in the conference returns along with their 4 other starting WRs, return the whole secondary, and 3/5 offensive linemen

Really hope the OHSAA makes the right decision and moves it to 12 teams per region, a lot of more quality games and less travel for bad teams who will have to travel 1 to 2 hours to get running clocked by half.
