Ucker was Mr. Baseball. One of the companion voices of summer. He played the game poorly but could weave the tapestry of baseball on radio.Anybody who can make fun of himself and still succeed is indeed a great.

Personally, I always felt like he almost single-handedly made Major League one of the best sports movies of all-time.

Clint Hill, Who Sprang to Kennedys’ Side as Shots Were Fired, Dies at 93

A Secret Service agent, he leaped onto the president’s limousine in Dallas in 1963 and was credited with saving the first lady’s life. But he was haunted by his inability to save her husband.

Not a celebrity, but still a notable death

Gene Hackman.
I know he was 95, but this is a bummer. My absolute favorite actor. Everything he was in he made better. RIP .

French Connection
Unforgiven
Hoosiers
Mississippi Burning
Behind Enemy Lines
Enemy of the State
Get Shorty
Crimson Tide
Bat 21
The Firm
No Way Out
Poseidon Adventure
Young Frankenstein
Superman

and many many others I am not remembering.

The Conversation, 1974 with John Cazale.

He and Dustin Hoffman were voted "least likely to succeed" by other actors at Pasadena Playhouse in 1956.
I really liked him in Streetcar Named Desire with Marlon Brando.
