2025 Canton McKinley Football Season
Week Two: August 29, 2025
STEUBENVILLE
Away this year and 2026 Home
Both teams are talking
The New Jersey team backed out of a proposed home and home agreement. Perhaps the Steubenville Big Red fills open date in week #2.
2 different New Jersey teams. This one is the new one.The New Jersey team backed out of a proposed home and home agreement. Perhaps the Steubenville Big Red fills open date in week #2.
Thats what I was thinking too2 different New Jersey teams. This one is the new one.
Game with the 2nd N.J. team is off the table. I don't know what happened there, but, yes, home & home with Steubenville is very much in play.I thought i saw somewhere a team from new jersey, a prep school filled that spot
Well, I have egg on my face. I had not seen DaveDawg's post above and thought the NJ team fell through, but he is absolutely correct and I was most definitely wrong; week 2 is the 2nd N.J. team. I was looking forward to a trip to Harding Stadium in Steubenville next year, but that isn't happening.Game with the 2nd N.J. team is off the table. Can you point to a link with comments by McK AD and BOE J.R. Together stating that…… It's about McKinley AD, Joe Bogdan and Canton City Schools BOE president, John Rinaldi, stating after the separation from Hall that McKinley needs someone to come in with a prior track record of being a successful, winning head coach. Someone who has taken the full responsibility of a football program, from 8th grade through the varsity and been successful. As stated before, Parnell lacks those credentials. Nevertheless, it is appropriate to now support the hire and give Parnell the grace and time to prove himself. Hopefully, he turns out to be a fantastic hire! Only time will tell. Good Luck Bulldogs!
Bogdan can stay. I like his picks. Weatherspoon and Parnell. Can you point to a link with comments by McK AD and BOE J.R. Together stating that…
Agreed, it’s appropriate to now support Renzy as he is here and the search ended.
Rinse and repeat is tiresome truthfully. One of theses guys has got to stick around for a while.
Jackson with the lone open date in FL.

He may want to not meet more than he needs to of us McK folk. When he wants to
Best of luck to him.Next week will be a big week for former McKinley great, Harold Fannin Jr.
The NFL Scouting Combine will be held from February 27-March 2 in Indianapolis.
Fannin will be there on February 28 with the rest of the top TEs in the nation.
Some mock drafts have him as high as the end of the 1st Round. The consensus would probably be 2nd or 3rd round.
Harold has made a meteoric rise from not the best player in Stark County in 2021 (LOL, some of us knew the real deal) to MAC Offensive Player of the Year, Consensus NCAA All American, and one of the best college players in the country in 3 short years. Good luck young man. Go make that money.
Coach Parnell will address the McKinley luncheon group at Michael D's the week after the Bulldogs' boys basketball team's season ends. (Boys basketball coach Sean Weatherspoon meets with the group every week during basketball season; hopefully, that campaign continues for a while.)Where are you IUDOGS,when is this new football coach going to meet and greet with McK folks?
Thank you I'm looking forward to see him there at least once.Coach Parnell will address the McKinley luncheon group at Michael D's the week after the Bulldogs' boys basketball team's season ends. (Boys basketball coach Sean Weatherspoon meets with the group every week during basketball season; hopefully, that campaign continues for a while.)
I will post the time and date of Parnell's appearance on here once that is set.
Sometimes your a victim of your own success. Why is there so many open dates on Massillon's schedule , just asking
Guessing he was underutilized at Mck?Next week will be a big week for former McKinley great, Harold Fannin Jr.

I'm sure that's true on some level, but he was pretty phenomenal at McKinley.Guessing he was underutilized at Mck?
Why didn’t he go somewhere bigger than BG?I'm sure that's true on some level, but he was pretty phenomenal at McKinley.

Harold Fannin helps Canton McKinley football overwhelm Jackson in OHSAA playoffs at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium
The McKinley Bulldogs forced turnovers and made big plays, as Harold Fannin and Khris Williams led them to an OHSAA regional quarterfinal win.www.cantonrep.com
I don't want to disparage the young man, but his grades were suspect for a while. BG took a chance on him because of his immense talent and potential. To his credit, he made the most of his opportunity. By all accounts, he's come a long way and done everything right up there. He could've transferred to any school in thr country but stayed loyal to BG because they took a chance on him.Why didn’t he go somewhere bigger than BG?
