I was at the Cafe on Whipple to hear the basketball coach, an the athletic director say that they still interview candidates. They haven't chosen anyone yet

I’m surprised that conversation was taking place out in the public and also with the basketball coach. He shouldn’t have anything to do with it.🤔

I believe the admin knows that McKinley is at a crossroad and has to get this right.

You do realize people swing from something that is successful or superior to them or something they are jealous of. Why in Fs sake would anyone from Massillon swing from Canton Mck?? I'm sure they are not jealous of winning the last 9 games or envy your program the last 20 years. Not trying to Hijack your thread so back to the coach search.

I don't see no more Massillon people on this thread than Mck people on Massillon threads. Besides if your on our thread I'm not going to assume your swinging. Bootleg is delusional and needs to know not to flatter himself most people from Massillon could give a sh#t and a f#ck less about Mck. Most dont even care that much about week 10 anymore. They come on your thread because it's a train wreck and interesting to read with all the fire the coach crap that's been going on for the last few years.

I know their top two choices have.
But that certainly doesn’t mean they can’t get a good hire.If you get to far down the applicant list it has to start to get watered down.I don’t think a lot of coaches are knocking the door down to coach Mckinley.

So I'm thinking it's the 3rd guy. (lol) By the way coaches not knocking down the door is a good thing IMO. I'm not looking for McKinley to hire a big name. We'll see.

I predict or am guessing we are in same spot. I do have some names I would like but understand its not ALL about the destination as much as it is about a person's life. Luckily for you - your district not only provided a solid position for your coach, but also provided an admin job for his wife. A person's family, who comes with, what type of job goes with all factor into the decision.

Definitely a lot more goes into it than most realize. For many of your past coaches (McDaniels being the classic example) it is much more than a “head coaching job”; it is a way of life and perhaps a permanent path. I definitely think that’s what the program needs— I know the opinions on Coach Hall are varying but I think he attempted to instill that culture once again. Probably he did not have the reach he would have liked. Although obviously I hope you guys lose every game 😂 I still wish to see the tradition and passion return to your fan base and team.

Solid response. A lot of factors have to be taken into consideration for a decision like this. I just hope they make the right decision for the city and the players. A good McKinley team is good for the county and the surrounding area.
 
I would be interested to hear what everyone thinks McK should be looking for in the new coach?

Proven success? Big school experience? Coaching in Diverse setting?
 
I am pounding the podium for Canton McKinley. The Bulldogs need an experienced koach. The Bulldogs need someone with Stark County ties so extensive they go back to ancient times. The Bulldogs need stability. The Bulldogs need a koach that the Federal League establishment meeting at Tozzi's on 12th feel comfortable with.
