2024 Massillon Tigers

In, most likely, 162 days, two of the top D2 teams in Ohio…and possibly the top two teams in all of Ohio…will be cracking the pads in PBTS to get 2024 really underway. 🦅 🐅

In these days of prolific offense's, May we have just witnessed the best defense in Tiger history?
I know I know the 40 D only gave up 6 points, but hell, there were hardly any forward passes in those days. As far as I'm concerned, the 2023 team/ season was one of the greatest teams in our storied history. Man! I am still so pumped 🙌

Yes ,Massillon was outstanding last year and deserved to win the state championship. Even though I am a Hoban graduate and was disappointed they lost I felt good for the Massillon fans. I never bought into this well they never won a state championship on the field. The way I look at it is they were beaten in the playoffs, finals by 3 schools that nobody else beat during those years , Moeller,St Ignatius and Hoban. Those 3 schools have like 25 state championships between them. Yes McKinley beat Moeller but look what happened to them the next 2 times they played them. They lost 43 to 10 and 35 to 11. Ditto when Ignatius lost they came back the next couple of years and regained the title.

So they didnt report it as half full or 3,000?What is your point with this?

It was a joke relax. OHSAA has a rep for under-reporting, deserved or not.

Officially it was 13993, and capacity is 23000. Which appears rather "dubious". In any case it was a GREAT atmosphere and so was the game. Sorry?

In addition, during the game, the announced attendance was 14,846.🤷🏻‍♂️

They did report as 14,000 some....which aint jack sheet to the big states south and west.
Georgia and Ohio have approximately the same overall population. Georgia had 51,000 (the most ever) attend its eight 2023 State Championship games +3 Flag Football title games in ATLANTA (in the previous four years, they avg 28,000). Ohio had 44,000 attend its 7 title games in CANTON, a 13% increase from 2022.

Texas has 20 million more people, so 194,000 attendees for their ten 2023 championship games at Cowboys Stadium make sense.

PA: 15,729 (six games) in 2023.
