2024 Massillon Tigers

That I’m not sure of. But you’re right it wasn’t animated or heated at all. If I had to guess maybe he cursed at the SJ on our sideline, our coaches thought he should have called a late hit but it was super bang bang and nowhere near egregious.
Gotcha yea that’s probably about what happened if I had a guess too. nothing was out of control or anything so I was confused. Good game though.

Well after watching the Ed’s game I sure hope we don’t get that officiating crew. We will have a ton of 15 yard penalties. They wouldn’t let those kids celebrate big plays at all. Not taunting them just celebrating a big play. Man would these officials let these kids have fun smh
That was pathetic from the officials. Not even excessive celebration, and certainly not taunting the opposition. Two terrible roughing the passer calls as well.

I try not to complain about the officiating but I don’t understand why the kids can’t celebrate a big play? Things are so much different today and as long as they’re not taunting opponents I don’t get it. Or overly excessive. And the roughing calls are getting worse too. Oh well what are you gonna do? I was honestly glad to see your coach give them hell at the end because it was ridiculous.

Do you know with 100% certaintly that something verbal wasn't directed to the opponent?

IMHO, deteriorating social standards do not mandate lax enforcement of the rules.
That’s not what I was referring to if you were responding to me. You see celebrating everywhere from youth to the pros. That’s what I meant. So either enforce the rules every single time no matter what or we have this grey area and leave it up to the stripes. So sometimes we’re picking and choosing when to call a celebration penalty? Sounds about as stupid as it’s officiated. Sometimes yes sometimes no? The game is supposed to be fun. So let it be.

We pick and choose when to call almost every penalty. Always have. As long as they're called consistently for both sides.

But yeah, some of the celebrating is over the top. Some of it may not deserve a flag, but still looks stupid and bush (e.g. pointing for a first down when you're losing by 20). Act like you've been there before.

Many, many years ago in another state, a crew I was a part of was subject to intense scrutiny due to an ejection we had after a catch and and immediate hard tackle. On tape, it looked like a good hard hit followed by the defender offering a hand to the receiver (which he accepted) and bringing him up off the ground. The covering official immediately threw his flag in the air and ejected the player.

The radio crew on the game and the bleacher experts blasted us for penalizing and ejecting the defender for "simply making a hard hit and helping the player up off the ground".

Those people had no idea what came out of the defender's mouth as he helped hi opponent up off the ground........ it involved what he was going to do to the opponent's sister and mother and questioned the sexuality of the oponent's father.......

In other words.......

Really

In other words you already knew I had no idea with 100 percent certainty so yea really

That’s a cool story and yea sure if the official hears it it’s going to be a flag. Not saying it’s ok to talk like that but when I played football and basketball that was every game all the time. So like I said call everything all the time then. Solves it all.

Well that’s part of the problem that we have now then. Since that’s always how it’s been. We don’t go by the book So therefore we have kids making plays having fun getting penalized for it. So I guess don’t have fun at all

My favorite is the defensive back that stands up and celebrates breaking up a pass that was overthrown by 20 yards.

Agreed on that, LOL. I remember an opponent posing after a td during a running clock and our kid simply pointed to the scoreboard. (Guess who got flagged?)
