After a sluggish first half the boys finally started to put it together mid way through the 3rd qtr. It takes a while for diesel fumes to vacate the lungs. Long bus rides are not good. I thought the special teams especially the kickoff and punt teams were below the standards we have come to enjoy over these many years. I am not sure what happened to the #1 kicker but I did not see him on the field after the first quarter. Big Moe needs to clean up special teams play and I am sure the coaching staff is aware. Being able to flip field position is very important come playoff time. Allowing the opposition to gain control of a kickoff near mid field is not going to get it done. Not a criticism, just an observation. It looks like week 4 might result in an open date since the team from Georgia apparently has backed out (game was scheduled to be played in Ironton). It may turn out to be a blessing in disguise since it would give Big Moe an unexpected but opportunistic extra week before St. X game. GBM
