2024 Federal League

The home team has won 10 of the last 11 games in the series. I can't think of another Federal League matchup where the home team has been so dominant.
Green will be a big favorite in that game… although I don’t think Lake will just rollover. That’s a wild stat.

Green actually won in 1963 and 1985 at Lake. There's a huge gap where they didnt play every year also. Regardless, they have Greens number at home.
They are probably saying Green hasn't won their since they were the Green Bulldog's since the new school wasn't founded until 1996.

The Green High Bulldogs have been around since 1949, it was Greensburg High before that.
I didn't know they had the name bulldogs before 1996 also heard their colors were adopted from Massillon in 1996 when Massillon donated their old Jerseys for Greens first season at New School

Massillon did donate their jerseys for Greensburg's first football season, which was probably sometime in the 1920s or 1930s, and yes, that is where we got our colors from. Not sure how long the Bulldogs nickname has been used, but I'm fairly certain it dates back before World War 2. The current HS building was indeed built in 1996. Greensburg High, built in 1902 on Greensburg Road was turned into Kleckner Elementary School, and was torn down in 2015. The first Green High School from 1957 is now the Intermediate School (Grades 4-6 I believe) and is right next to the stadium. It too is being demolished after this school year, along with the Middle School (Grades 7-8) to make room for a new larger school building which is being constructed right now on land between the two existing schools.

Thank you for clearing it up see I was confused. I was under the impression that 1996 was when we donated our jerseys to green the same year your new higschool was built.I didn't know that had been your colors for that long.

With Lake as beat up as they are, it looks like unless Jackson can break the curse it's McKinley's league once again.

However, borrowing from spyros in the McK thread... the Bulldogs have been penalized 49 times for 423 yards since entering Fed play. They have over ten penalties in each of the four games. They played a close one against Green and a nailbiter against Hoover that may well have been a loss if not for an iffy decision by Brian Baum. This pattern does not bode well for them against Massillon and R1 competition, including Jackson. We shall see!

maybe Bardawil will have a little something for the Pups, I believe he is the OC for Jackson this year and had been at McKinley

I would love to see Jackson knock off McKinley and open up the possibility for a three-way tie at the top of the league standings. Of course, Green would have to beat Perry and Lake, which is no easy task. Polar Bears, Pups, and Dawgs should all win this week though. Louisville isn't a pushover, but they just don't score that much. As for GlenOak, yikes

I hate to say this but McK is prime for a loss , they have gotten worse as the season has gone on, you dont play like that
this deep in the season and not blame the HC an staff for that many penalties an poor play there needs to be a a complete
review of were the program is going. just look at the stands , I stopped going because of the poor play an they think its all good

Must win for Hoover tonight if they want any chance of hosting a playoff game. Looking forward to tonight. Perry is up and down. And Hoover has a lot of guys banged up.

Very big game for both teams. Hoover and Perry could both use some positive momentum heading into the last two weeks. Vikings could easily finish the season 3-0 OR 0-3.

Yeh pretty sure by 1996 we did not need donations. I've always wished Green would go like the Miami Hurricanes and adopt their Green, Orange and White. Every time its brought up though the old school alumni kick it down and have fits. Its funny when we play a team with Green uni's and the ref says out of bounds Green ball, they actually mean the opposing team.

I personally would be okay with something like the Miami orange uniform combo as our home jersey, but I would prefer to keep orange, and not green, as the dominant color. I was a big fan of the orange home jerseys we had from 2019-2022, but don't care as much for the black ones being used now.

Then there's the fact that the orange numbers on the current white road jerseys look almost red, but that's a whole other conversation.

While Green's unis are nothing special, we can at least take heart that they aren't as bad as Jackson wearing yellow pants with their white road jerseys, like they did in Week 5. Now that was ugly.

Lake gets my vote for best football unis in the Federal League. For basketball, I'll go with Jackson's purple away jerseys.

The Polar Bear uniforms have left something to be desired this year, yes.

IMO, you can’t beat the Perry uniforms from 1967 through 1982. There were some subtle changes in the stripes over that time, but basically the same style.

Jackson is 1-13 vs McKinley at McKinley home stadiums (Fawcett, Central Catholic and Benson HOF) all-time,
McKinley is 12-0 in its last 12 home games vs Jackson as another chance comes up next week to add another number in that regard.

Jackson 7 GlenOak 7 HALF. Jackson been the better teams, unable to convert on multiple drives deep in GlenOak territory. Jackson to receive.
