Louisville has very little to do with our schedule problem. Over the last 5 years ( 19-23) the Leps have a combined record of 13-36. If they were in our conference they would still be probably considered as the second best team in the league in most years. But that would not have helped WB get more computer points... all league games are minimal computer points because the teams all beat each other up. Where you garnish most of your points and second level points is when your conference opponents can win Non conference games which has been a struggle for most of the teams in the EBC and would have been the same issue as Louisville.

I know of at least 2 opponents that have canceled games with WB, either with at least one game remaining on the contract or before the series began. Another didn't want to renew after this season.
Next year WB plays Canfield (7 playoff appearances since 2015), New Philadelphia (8), Chaney (2), Struthers (6) and Howland (2). That's four D3s and a really good D4. Howland is going to be on the schedule for the foreseeable future.
I'm not sure what else y'all want them do. I know Massillon always has some open dates.

WB's schedule is fine the way it is. I would like to see them play Louisville again because they had some good games and a nice rivalry but overall, they have a good enough non-league schedule. It was only in 2019 when they were struggling, and Minerva broke one of our long losing streaks against them (Our only league win since 2014). Amazing how WB used that game as a springboard to incredible success and Minerva went in the opposite direction. Hopefully the Lions and can turn it around soon. I think grades 8, 9 and 10 are all solid so hopefully that translates into a competitive team on Friday nights. That would obviously be great for Minerva but also for the EBC. Only time will tell. Seems like we always have an upcoming class that is going to turn things around.

WB doesn’t owe know anybody any apologies. They are playing a schedule that is equivalent to or beyond their enrollment. For a small rural D4 school to have the talent that has come through this little farm school in the last 5 years is nothing short of a miracle . Name a public small school other than South Range or Canfield in a 40 mile radius that would’ve guaranteed beaten them in last five years guaranteed? Louisville. No way.

Salem almost pulled it off twice, and what's even crazier is they were a very mediocre team in 2019. That's why the talk about them that seems to paint them as some unbeatable juggernaut has been so weird to me this year. No doubt they're in the midst of maybe the best run of talent in their school's history but at some point they will regress to the average and if they schedule themselves into a hole that will really hurt them

If you were gonna place money on them just about any year who would it be on? Nobody thinks that this great run is gonna last forever. I think I said that when I was talking about future out of the league opponents.WB doesn’t owe anybody any explanations about their schedule. The teams they are blowing away the next four weeks would have gotten blown away by the teams they played in the first half of the season. That’s not their fault. How do you think Salem would do against Canfield and Chaney this year?

Maybe say tri county area and you still have a fight. Comparing that at a country level is ridiculous

The one feather that I think that rivalry gets that others don't is that it runs across basically all sports. I remember some extremely chippy baseball games being talked about on here a few years ago and I believe some police involvement at their wrestling dual meet last year. It's obviously not Massilon/McKinley but it's easily the best in our conference

In this season I'll agree, nobody in the EBC is winning a game against West Branches out of conference schedule but even as early as just two seasons ago the league was more than competitive enough to steal games from the Warriors. It's just strange to me this discussion is framed like it's been a decade long thing when just 5 years ago West Branch gave Minerva the win that broke their historic losing streak

You want to bet, Dude ? Not sure how old you are. But you don’t have a clue.. Not many rivalries in the country got to level of hatred as that rivalry did . They had to discontinue play for years because of the violence and destruction.

Five years of domination is a long time in sports. You can count.WB’s league losses on zero fingers . A handful of losses were to Canfield and playoff teams like Ursuline and Canton South’ s best team ever. Throw in a fluke loss to Jefferson Area with our all everything QB limping .

Nobody, and I mean absolutely nobody, gives a damn about Struthers rivalry games outside of Struthers. No juice in it. Same with the private school rivalry games, they might be incredible football games but it's a clash of transplants and mercenary's, not even close to the same as old public schools going after each other

I said HEATED rivalries . There was no more nastiness in a rivalry than WB/ Salem . I don’t think you’re grasping what I’m saying. It had gotten violent and destructive. This wasn’t just the players , it was fans and it was getting bad a week before the game during the game and after the game to the point where somebody was going to get seriously hurt. I’m not comparing it to the size of some of the bigger schools . It was really bad. Really bad. Enough to cancel the series for a couple years.. I don’t think people have any idea what I’m talking about about. Obviously. My sister was on the band bus when the rocks came flying through if that’s any example.

Struthers and Campbell was literal fist fights all week leading up to the game as well, got cancelled then they just started putting fans on opposite sides with police stopping anyone from going to either side. WB/salem is big too but I don’t see any being very bad anymore in any capacity the days of old school rivalries like they used to be are long gone. Too many liberal cry babies as parents

He might not have a choice.... Minerva is that bad! Salem is not good and are 40 pt favorites. But, to actually answer your question... He does have a choice and YES, he will run it up.
