2024 Cincinnati Bengals

A double win for the Bengals fans? The football gods aren’t that kind to us.
Vrabel must be headed for New England tomorrow morning. You won’t likely get him. Who would you replace Taylor with if you could hire ?

Maybe replacing Mike Brown with you would make Taylor look better ?

Vrabel would be option 1. I like the idea of Detroit’s OC Ben Johnson or Ravens’ OC Todd Monken, but after watching Ryan Day and Zach Taylor try to call plays just for it to blow up in their faces, I’m not sure I’m ready for that risk again.

Also intrigued by the idea of bringing Jesse Minter home and pairing him with a top OC. And ditto for Detroit’s DC Aaron Glenn.

the Bengals are in this situation year after year because they’re cheap, they don’t want a coach who will push back and call out ownership for being cheap. Blame the fans who keep buying season tickets, and idiots like me who feel like it’s my duty as a dad to take my son to a game every year, hoping just finally the ownership will switch mindsets instead of financially raping people like me, trying to do the right thing.

Bengals HC Zach Taylor makes $4.5 mil a year and is signed thru the 2026 season. If the Bengals were to fire Taylor they would owe him $9 mil. Throw in Burrow’s contract extension kicks in 2025 and they have to extend Chase - that’s too much $$$$$ for the Brown family. Very unlikely Taylor is fired. If the did fire him, I believe the Lions OC Ben Johnson would be the best choice to pair with Burrow.

As for the Bengals and no one wanting to face them in the playoffs & KC tanking just to keep Burrow out….
* Bryce Young, Daniel Jones, Deshawn Watson, Gardner Minshew, Cooper Rush, Mason Rudolph, Dorian Thompson-Robinson, Bo Nix and Russell Wilson

These are the starting qb’s the Bengals beat this season. The Bengals could beat the Texans but they would be decisive underdogs vs Baltimore, Buffalo & KC in the playoffs.

For those saying NOBODY wants to face the Bengals if they had made it, Mahomes, Allen, and Lamar would he salivating to face the Bengals defense especially the secondary. Do you think Lamar wouldn't want to play a D that he threw for 700 yards and 7 Td's against? I hate the delusional sect of our fan base.

Team owner Mike Brown better open up the checkbook to keep Burrow’s top two wide receivers. Ja’Marr Chase had a historic season and Tee Higgins provided clutch performances to keep the team’s playoff hopes alive until the final day of the regular season.

Those 3 QB's yes the teams they represent no. Buffalo did not play Bengals. As for the Chiefs and Ravens, in 3 games between those 2 teams the Bengals lost by a total of 5 pts. Chiefs nor Ravens or Bills want to face Joe Burrow vs facing Nix, Wison. Texans have Stroud but he is not Burrow. I def. think KC - Ravens - Bills would rather face those 3 teams in the playoffs (Texans, Steelers, Broncos) than the Bengals.

No they would not. KC beat the Bengals on last second PI, And in 2 games vs Ravens the Bengal lost by 4 pts. The Chargers beat the Bengals mostly because pocket change MAC couldn't make a couple of FG's. Bengals would not be decisive underdogs vs Ravens, Bills, or KC.

Yes the Bengals would have been decisive underdogs vs Bal, Buf & KC on the road in a playoff games. A decisive underdog in the NFL is about a 6-7 0t spread with the favored team about a 2/3 chance of winning. All three of these games would be this situation.

Would the Bengals have a shot with Burrow, absolutely but would they beat any of them? Unlikely.

Big difference between losing and being a decisive underdog. Bengals lost by 1 pt. to the Chiefs at KC and by 1 pt. to the crows at Baltimore. Bengals would not be decisive underdogs.

Apparently the Bengals were not decisive favorites vs NE either.

I think your Who Dey glasses are impeding you view of reality on a Bengal playoff game at Bal, KC or Buf. Those guys might be a bit better than Russel Wilson and put up a point or two more than the 17 the Steelers did.

LOL now you are changing the narrative. You stated the Bengals would be a decisive underdogs vs KC, baltimore, or the Bills. They would not be. Yes the Bengals defense would give up a lot of pts. but the offense would score a lot, 97 pts. in 3 games vs ravens and chiefs. Would bills, chiefs, and ravens be favored vs bengals yes decisive favorites no. There are facts than there are opinions.

Edit: And I have no doubt the chiefs, ravens, and bills would rather face Texans, Broncos, steelers, than the Bengals because of Burrow at QB.
I am one of Mike Browns/ ZT's biggest critics but the Bengals would not be decisive underdogs vs any teams in the playoffs because of Burrow and the offense.

I predict Bengals will select Jack Sawyer with the 17th pick in the draft. Sam Hubbard only with more talent. Do not take a wide receiver if the Bengals let Higgins Walk.

Bengals paper over the real problems by firing Lou Anarumo, James Bettcher and the secondary coach.

Also fired Frank Pollack, which was long overdue.

But the biggest black holes remain (Zac, Tobin, ownership, bare-bones scouting).
That is all true but in 22 the bengals were a punt return/penalty away from repeating as AFC champs. Get a competent o-line, defense and the Bengals because they have a top notch QB are one of the best teams in the league. The fact is these are the Bengals there will not be wholesale changes hopefully they can get lucky in FA/draft as they sometimes do. The Bengals were in almost every game they played this year. Just get slightly better on defense and o-line (Burrow cannot continue to be hit as often as he has been) this is a 11/6, 12/5 team.

That would Be a terrible pick. Sawyer & JTT have never lived up to their #2 & #3 rankings coming out of high achiol. They each are good players but are both 22-23, they should be dominant A 2nd round or 3rd round pick for Sawyer is more realistic.

For what it’s worth PFF has Sawyer ranked the 9th best edge (37th overall) and JTT the 10th best edge (41st overall)

Last two weeks he has been dominant vs good competition. Regardless I would like to see the Bengals pick D-line or IOL (which I doubt). However Sawyer will not last till the 3rd. rd. I am no expert, but he has been one of the best D-lineman I have seen play all year (granted I don't see everybody) to go with the 2 tackles from SCUM.

Edit: Carter will be gone in top 5.
