I will be publishing my current listings of Boys & Girls HS Indoor T&F Records at the end of November. A number of new records were established in 2022 amongst both sexes. Looking forward to the emergence of new stars, as well as the return of veterans.

Anyone want to go out on a limb and predict which events are most likely to have new state records at the end of the season?

^ Connor Ackley has better a better than average chance of taking down Andrew Jordan’s 3200 outdoor record
Andrew Jordan ran 8:46.72 at the Eastern Relays in 2016 in the outdoor 3200 meter run but what about Andrew Scharsu's 8:40.99 in 1978 at the Golden West Invitational.

Sorry, Nathan Mountain (St. X) ran 8:42.16 at the Brooks Invite on 2 July 2021 to take over as the Ohio 2-Mile king. Converted, that's an 8:39.14+ for 3200m

However, the best PURE 3200m record (actual time at a 3200m mark) is 8:46.3 by Rickey Pittman (Cleveland East Tech) @ the Bellaire Relays' 3200m race in 1980...just holding off Lancaster's John Zishka in 8:49.9

You are both correct, of course. I have all the GWI results from that site & others. The original mark as published in T&F News in 1978 was 8:44.0 as recording to the 1/10 second was standard for that time. However, it evidently WAS an FAT mark recorded as 8:44.03, but not published like that. Hence, in subsequent years, GWI converted those 2 mile performances over to 3200m times.

Attached are my copies of the known Ohio HS T&F indoor records to date. If there are any omissions and/or corrections, please feel free to send them along.

You amended the girls 4x8 last year to reflect Worthington's 9:09.21 at NBNI in 2019, but in this update you must have pulled a version previous to that because it's back to being Mags at 9:28.16.

Argh. Will correct. Thx

The correct 4x800m team, Thomas Worthington's 9:09.21 team from the 2019 NBNI now properly occupy the queens of the mountain on the document.

The girls' indoor records have been updated to reflect Camden Bentley's 8.48 60mH, and Julie Larancuente-Huebner's 41' 8 1/2" TJ from early December.
