Tomlinson's teams have been called thugs for years. Yesterday was just another example of the thug mentality that he not only allows but clearly encourages.
look - i saw this. didn't like it but i think in their minds it was a way to actually acknowledge/celebrate that what happened saved Damar's life.
i don't think it was taken well but i believe they had the right intentions.

on to the season and the "off-season"

i believe we've found our QB. Pickett looks the part and improved along the way. he has the physical skills, tools, etc to be a great quarterback. i'm not saying he's going to have a Big Ben type of career. that's hard to duplicate and any time he can't make a play that we think Ben would have made, spoiled Steelers fans will probably be like "he's terrible". he's not. with a rookie QB contract for the next 4-5 years we can now work on improving the rest of the team, which is OLine, DLine and ILB

the defense is legit and can get better. add in a couple OLine, depth at DLine and ILB, and we are a playoff team.

i believe that.

LET'S GO!

That's so dumb it's funny. But after the Steelers finish higher than the Browns for the 30th straight year, i would'nt expect anything else.

So people actually think the Steeler players were demeaning Damar Hamlin… Pittsburgh homegrown, Pittsburgh Central Catholic, U. of Pittsburgh grad, a guy who said he’s second favorite team is the Steelers who practiced and played in the same facility for 4 years. Was it stupid yes, clueless yes..the NFL is a fraternity, I agree with the statement above they were celebrating Damars recovery. Has anyone heard a response from the Steeler players or organization regarding this?

Seriously? I don't think they were thinking of anything except celebrating the play, but certainly not to honor Hamlin.

What does finishing higher than the Browns have to do with anything?
My point is .............it shows the Steelers are a class organization that does it the right way. Your thug comment is stupid. The roughing call on Cam Heyward was ridiculous. Watson is hard to get on the ground.

This isn’t the first time they did the CPR thing..it’s done often after a sack. Likely didn’t give it a second thought but of course social media blows it out of proportion and the angry Steeler haters jump right in.

Ended up with the 17th pick, probably just out of range of the best few OT prospects. Was really hoping they would have a shot at the kid from Northwestern.

Also, congrats to Khan for swindling the Bears in the Claypool trade. With Miami’s forfeited pick, he turned a mediocre WR into the 32nd pick.

Right. If the Steelers are looking for a tackle they probably get the 4th best at pick 17. Maybe a 1 or 2 guard will be there? At 32 any of best available DL, LB, Corner. And I guess they have another pick at 48?

CB - As good as this franchise has been at drafting and developing WRs, they've been equally as bad at drafting and developing corners. I'd rather they look to FA again. It would take an elite CB talent to overcome whatever is going on here, and elite CB prospects are usually gone very early.

OL - Dan Moore is alright, a great value pick for sure. And the OL definitely got better as the year went on, but they need a real Pro Bowl level talent manning the blindside. Unfortunately, they likely played their way out of drafting that kind of player. G and C could be upgraded in the 2nd or 3rd rounds.

DL - Alualu is done. Heyward is getting older. Ogunjobi and Loudermilk are just fine. They need a youth movement to happen pretty quickly. I'd probably prioritize replacing Alualu this year. Heyward still has a couple years left in him barring injury.

WR - Trading Claypool did cost them a WR. Gunner I expect will be gone as he was brought in to be the return guy but lost the job to Sims early on. They will have Calvin Austin coming back next year, hopefully, but I think he's more of a gadget player than a consistent threat. And honestly, at 5'9" (generously) 160-ish lbs, his body probably won't be able to handle much more than part-time work. There's a lot of talk about reuniting Kenny Pickett with Jordan Addison. It wouldn't be the worst move in the world, giving a young QB a familiar and talented weapon.

ILB - Devin Bush is cooked. Spillane is a fill-in specialist. They need someone to pair with Jack. FA or draft, whatever they can get.

Look I hate the Steelers, but I think you are right. My knee jerk reaction was negative, but the players were not intent on mocking anyone. It was not well thought out, but it was not malicious. IMO.

The Steelers currently have 7 picks in the 2023 NFL Draft:
* 1st (17th), 2nd (32) & (49), 3rd (80), 4th (117), 7th (212) & (223)
*** The picks in the 4th and 7th rounds will be lower once the compensatory picks are determined by the NFL. The Steelers will not be receiving any compensatory picks this year.

* Team Needs: DT, OT, CB, ILB, ELB (depth), WR
* 3 QB's will go in the 1st before Steelers pick at 17: Ala Young, OSU Stroud & Ky Levis. Florida Richarson has been getting some hype as well.
* Top OT's: OSU Johnson Jr, NW Skoronski, GA Jones, Okl Harrision
* Top DT's: GA Carter, Clemson Bresee, Fla Dexter
* Top CB's: GA Ringo, Ore Gonzalez, PS Porter Jr, SC Smith, Utah Phillips III
* Top ILB: Clemson Simpson, Ore Sewell
* Top OLB: Ala Anderson Jr, Clemson Murphy, TT Wilson, LSU Ojulari

Out of the Steelers first 4 picks, I believe one of the picks needs to be a WR/TE for the offense. I'd be scared to death with OSU Jaxon Smith-Njigba but 4 months ago he was a Top 5 talent, just have to do your due-diligence to see if he loves/wants to play football. Not a team need at 17th but if he drops to the 2nd rd, he would be worth it at the 32nd pick. Unlikely Smith-Njigba falls that far.

Great story if the Steelers took PSU Joey Porter Jr at 17th or 32nd but I agree with Crusaders, Steelers haven't done well at drafting CB's. Realistically, it's the Steelers and I would think DT, OT or ILB in the 1st.

Good synopsis. I’m too lazy to do that kind of analysis.

So you're saying the Steelers players were just to stupid to realize that it was a stupid celebration?

If the Steelers were to lose ILB Brian Flores to the Arizona Cardinals for their head coaching job, Pittsburgh would receive two 3rd round compensatory picks - one in 2024 and the other in 2025 per the NFL’a minority hiring policy.

Seems to be a lot of chatter about the Steelers signing Tremaine Edmunds in FA. Would be a great pickup to replace Bush. Cap would be the only concern but they have wiggle room after some cuts and restructures, the typical Steelers off-season cap maneuvering. I would probably prioritize getting a real CB1 via FA or trade but we'll see.
