Going back now, I wonder if Mr. Rolf bypassed trying to get the Lake baseball job (not even Buck Showalter had a chance against the super's son) because he was biding his time for a potential Eastwood revival. I was unaware of his coaching basketball at Eastwood this year. If Northwood gave him a teaching job, that would be hard to leave unless Eastwood has one for him?
And if you talk to someone with knowledge from Eastwood, you will see that several of these are connected and not in a good way
Did not say or indicate in any way that it would be a good hire. Just that from talking to some, that it would not be a surprise. A lot of the good candidates have already been scooped up.

It is very odd to me. I've heard the "why" but still odd.
Unsure if there has been a better overall sports culture at a public school in the Toledo area over the past 20-30 years.

That is crazy. I think those coaches all had over 65 years combined service. Henline had 2 stints and was an asst. w/ Stoller, Craig coached under Jerry for a handful of years and Schmeltz was an assistant too. Tough to replace all that.
Like the Eastwood coaches are clueless?
That's not exactly the word the mom used, but yes.

99% of programs envy the type of success Eastwood football has seen. If the Rutherford’s don’t know what they’re doing then every fan should wish their coaches were also clueless

Buckle up, you could turn into Marion Pleasant real quick . Admin ran off the head coach and coaching staff now they are at the bottom with no signs of ever coming back .

I've been curious as to what happened with Marion Pleasant as well. 5 wins in the last 3 years for a program that was a traditional small school powerhouse is alarming. Are the Marion Harding kids transferring somewhere else now?
I would say, depends on if they have made progress on the AD. If they have interviewed/offered a job to someone you should include them in the hiring of the coach even if they are not technically on the job. If they do not have a person, then I think you let Hill make the hire and trust he has good judgment

The superintendent typically handles all hiring at Eastwood. If the AD had more input the above list of departures may not be quite as long.
Oh, is he the one that needs to learn the difference between personal questions and questions pertaining to the job?

Eastwood is looking for a high school assistant principal/athletic director.
They also need a couple of Intervention Specialists, which is what Rolf does at Northwood.

The culture seemed to change overnight when they hired Kevin Kline . The Principal has kids in the program and when he was hired 4-5 years ago he was telling the Head football coach how he should practice and what plays they should be running in games . The Coach stepped away and it has been all down hill from there . It seems like the principle has his hands on the football program and they are running the program into the ground . It’s a wild place now .

Interesting. Football really is a district wide, if not community wide sport. So many people point fingers at coaches, but in reality, the administration has to put the people in place and give them the tools to be successful. Hard to follow Kubbs 206-40 record at Pleasant. 227-140 for Eastwood under the senior Rutherford is an impressive mark as well. It will be interesting to see what happens. Hopefully they don't end up like Pleasant. I think with the change, Oak Harbor instantly comes in and is the class of the NBC.

AD job has been posted and I have to believe they are already interviewing/phoning candidates? That posting closed March 3rd according to schools website. I did have dinner with some friends over the weekend and the rumor was that there was not a great pool of candidates that applied (understandably so considering the AST. Principal role with the AD role).
Who knows with football. I am sure there is some guys with interest but not seeing that job posted yet. Maybe an internal candidate at Eastwood is interested?
March 30th deadline. Wow. Won't have a football coach until mid/end of April.
