I went through and tried to remove all of the 6th and 7th graders. If I removed an 8th grader on accident or left someone that's in 6th or 7th, please let me know! Any help with future high schools would be greatly appreciated...

Strange not to see St. Eds with multiple names on the list. Perrysburg always seems to have the top 106 pounder on their team. Looks like it'll happen again with Ayden Dodd.

And Perrysburg might have Grey Burnett the year after that? Impressive.

It’s not a large class but I’d take the top 3 of Peterson, Rohr, and Driscoll up against any school’s, that’s 3 Junior High Champs who have done quite well against national competition.

I'd put Whiteley top 3 too. Man oh man are they gonna be loaded

LOL!!!! Nothing against Ed's because they do have a great program, but there is already a thread on St Ed's wrestling if posters want to join that love fest. Actually, living in the NE I'm more interested and excited for Brecksville, Wadsworth, Elyria, and Massilon Perry. I think they're called public schools. They aren't really from the NE, but Perrysburg is also a very exciting program. Just my 2 cents.

So, none of those schools recruit kids to their district?

Although there is discussion about St. Eds, I do believe the topic is staying relevant to the thread.

If it makes you feel any better, Dion i'll shift the conversation. I think one of the best kids i've seen in a long time is 7th grader is Brayton Feister. I recently watched an interview he did with the man Zeb Miller and football is a huge factor in his decision of where to attend high school. He will be a very good one in a couple years, probably for both sports.

The kid is like 16 in 7th grade. A double hold back or more.

Holdbacks, blah, blah, blah.... Recruiting, blah, blah, blah...

Like clockwork, same predictable responses every year to this thread.... When are we going to get past the complaining and embrace the reality that if/when kids and families have options to put themselves in a better situation - athletically, academically, and socially- this is a good thing!

I'll never understand why wrestling fans/message board posters live in this self-righteous fantasy world where one must attend high school in the town in which they were born or be labeled a "move-in" or "recruit"? I'll never understand the knee-jerk response of attributing the success of a program to something sinister like "recruiting" rather than appreciating and applauding the time, effort, and commitment that the coaching staff of top-level programs put into building a program and culture that attracts athletes and drives families to choose to be a part of it. The default position of too many posters on this site seems to be always finding a reason to diminish the success of athletes and or programs.

"Sure he won a state title, but he's in a freshman weight in D3, weak bracket, great draw, came out a soft sectional and district .... sure he's 47-3 but lost to two kids who are not even nationally ranked and they didn't even wrestle Blair or Sem." Yeah, he's a Fargo All American, but it's only Greco, and that was one of the weaker weights @ Fargo... I know he made a Cadet world team, but Cuba wasn't there so his Jr. Pan-Am games bronze medal should really have an asterisk... Yeah, they are a good team, but they would never beat the '09 Graham team...Yeah, he's a good coach, but he basically inherited finished products and didn't really develop them" ......

I get that St. Eds has advantages that most public schools do not. It's no different than Big10 schools vs MAC schools. No different than the Yankees vs. the Marlins. No different than Brad Pitt vs. most of us posting on this message board... Life is not always fair, but that's not an excuse to complain. We still have to compete and do the best we can with what we have. Rather than ripping on programs for being successful or criticizing families for making decisions they believe will give their kids a better chance to succeed, why not appreciate and learn from what the best are doing right and try to replicate their success? St. Eds and Graham didn't become what they are overnight and by accident- they built it, intentionally, over decades.

Winners will always find a way!

Out of this years 8th graders does anyone see a kid that could be competing in the state finals from this class? I know it happens in the lower weights but what about some of the middle weights and upper weights wrestlers there ?

So why does this question seem like an admission to recruiting? Not pointing any fingers, but there is a difference between recruiting and attracting.

I have no ties to any of the schools in this thread. I was just saying...pointing fingers at 1 school while mentioning others who recruit themselves looks foolish. Just because they are "public" doesnt mean the dont recruit kids. Graham Local is public as well. I believe their 106 is from Arizona...

This has been covered a million times! It's ST PARIS GRAHAM. Clearly they are a Catholic school!!! Why does this come up yearly?

Not sure if you're reading correctly. You completely ignored my, "Not pointing fingers." Take it FWIW there is a DIFFERENCE between attracting talent and recruiting talent. I am very aware of a couple schools that are "aggressive" and I'm also aware of schools that are more attractive for wrestling. There you have it.
