Shaping up to be another great college basketball tournament. There are no less than 15-20 teams who could get hot and win it all in March. There seems to be a little changing of the guard in college hoops today. You see alot of older guys who stay and develop in college and really turn some of these not traditional teams (like Baylor) into contenders. The days of bringing in a bunch of freshman and dominating are over. The Dukes and Kentuckys are good, but don't dominate anymore.

Mack out at Louisville. I have no idea how things got so bad in such a short time, but it was clear he was checked out and so was the team. It would be funny if Pitino ends up back there.

I heard it was a combination of things - poor record and poor behavior of some kind. I can't remember why Pitino left...

That shocks me. He was great at Xavier. It's kind of like the Archie Miller deal at Indiana in that it appeared to be a good fit and it just didn't happen. Louisville hoops has high expectations and it's really hard to build programs fast the right way. And anymore we're not sure what the right way is and if it's even possible.

As wide open as I can remember college basketball has ever been. Auburn looks really good, the transfer portal was really good to Pearl. Kessler has elevated them to an elite defensive team.

Terrific year for big man play. I was thinking more talls than ever but not so. I recently went through some old B10 rosters, mid 70s IU had 2 7footers and a 6'11. OSU had two. Purdue two. Minn countered with a 7'3" It was crazy. The difference is more in the forward and guard sports. More tall there.

Feeling like Purdue is the team to beat. However, there’s going to some really dangerous Bubble teams like Alabama, Creighton, and maybe Michigan. I feel pretty confident at least one #1 seed is getting bounced in the 2nd round.

Boy the big ten is topsy turvey and it's looking again like another year where I can't see a final four team. Purdue, Illinois, Michigan State and Wisconsin all play up and down to the competition. I think Illinois has the best chance of making a run. They have a dominant big, and good guard play, but can they string together several good games in a row?

The B1G tournament should be a good one. Rutgers has beat all the top four teams at present time.
Go Buckeyes!

I read that the BT can only suspend a coach for two games and fine them up to $10K. I would hope that the AD would fire him before he reached the parking lot.

Did anyone watch the end of the Wisc-Mi game? Gonna be some suspensions and Howard will be at the top of the list........
Just watched it on twitter. Uncalled for by Howard but it wasn’t a punch, even if it was meant to be, he kind a touched the side of the assistants face with an open hand..more like a semi bitchslap.

Did I misread what I saw? Wisky put hands on first. I was all ready to call Howard a joke, just from the headline. The video seemed to show the Wisc guy engage.

It's a handshake line. Not hard to do. You shut your mouth, walk the line and go piss in the locker. Howard is just the more visible character here.

It must have been a pisser to beat Iowa earlier in the week and then get knocked back by Wiscy - and, possibly, out of the NCAA tourney.

That said, something similiar happened during last year's B1G tourney between Howard and Maryland's HC, iihr.
