OK, I'm really bored and desperate for something to do. I've looked at corona stats as much as I care to do. I'm tired of calculating how much I've lost in stocks. And I'm exhausted from driving around to every store imaginable searching for toilet paper. So, I decided to go ahead w/ the NCAA 2020 Pick'Em. Trackwrestling is doing a simulation, based on something called Bayesian Hierarchical Modeling technique. I actually think it's a made-up phrase by someone who is just messing with us, likely China. Anyway, they go through each bracket as if the tourney was taking place. Many matches have outcomes that are very improbable, kind of like Moore losing to an unseeded wrestler 2x when he's seeded #1 in the 2018 NCAAs. I thought that with only 11 other teams entered this year, maybe my chances of winning a Pick'Em would be greatly enhanced. So I thought I'd run the numbers and see what happened. We still have the placement matches and finals today, but here's where we stand this morning:

1 - Redflagday - 128.5
2 - Buckeyes7 - 119.5
3 - kidwrestle - 117.5
4 - CoachHoversten - 115
5 - GWF - 111
6 - DrFunknstein - 106.5
7 - Sunnyred - 92
8 - said_aouita - 91.5
9 - bdhof - 88
10 - OaSgUr2013 - 84
11 - CalendarCow54 - 78.5
12 - beaverfan - 75.5

And, unfortunately, my chances of winning are not greatly enhanced, even in a watered down field.

I plugged in my picks and finished in first place. Congrats to me!
Also please note the new "social distancing" policy by the CDC calls for spacing between humans equal to....... "the length of an adult Llama"

In a small field of competitors, congrats are due to Redflagday, winning the 2020 Mythical NCAA Pick'Em. And of course, congrats to beaverfan for winning the Penguin Award. And, congrats are due to the Pope, because he's the Pope.

I'm a little late with my picks, can I still send them in for the mythical championships.....? Was there a deadline? lol

Go ahead and submit your team. But, even after the fact, it will be difficult to top Redflagday.

I was just joking since I was a couple hours late on the Big Ten pick-em and promised I wouldn't be late on the NCAA picks....never thought there would be a simulated tournament - which was a good idea. I hear the pay-out was the same as all the other years, with the winner getting their name added to the mythical champions trophy. Maybe it's just a rumor.
