A few comments about Big Moe Football...I also heard that some kids were not working out when they had the chance in the off season but did show up when the new Coach was announced. Plenty of time passed from the end of the last season to when that happened and I saw a few examples of kids working out on their own but when you have a chance to do that with your teammates you do it! That is on the kids but also on the parents, entitlement is a disruptive belief to buy into and one that can poison the chemistry that any coaching staff, or business for that matter, that is trying to build a new culture. Families are entitled (after paying tuition) to have a chance for their kids to compete for a spot on a sporting team, and that situation is driven by another belief, and that is commitment! You can question as to who has it but you shouldn't have to explain what it means or force it, it's a fundamental of competition and that belief is the one that is important when there is a turn around situation at play. (Sorry for the soap box stance but it's been a while since I have spoken out) Now, as far as Moeller goes....The seniors currently on the team appear to be a very tight group and the word is they are very supportive of the coaching staff, and the intensity that they are bringing. That atmosphere is where the rebuild starts and you can see it and feel it if you attend a game. or go watch a practice! Last night had few moments that had a big impact on the game but make no mistake there is a difference in what is going on now vs the situation last year. The schedule won't get any easier so patience will be a virtue for parents and fans, but rest assured that Big Moe is in good hands now with a head coach who knows what it takes to be successful and will most likely have no room for anyone who operates with the first belief I spoke of above! If you are an underclassmen and a member of the program understand what you signed up for and GO TO WORK when you get the opportunity!
Granite out!
