The Anderson Aces will be holding tryouts for their 2020 14U baseball team on Saturday, July 13th at 10:00 a.m. and Sunday, July 14th at 5:00 p.m. at RiversidePark field #3.

The team is seeking top-notch baseball players who are ultimately looking to play for their high school programs and beyond. The team will compete in SWOL in 2020 and will also lookto play in local tournaments in addition to 1-2 regional (travel) tournaments. The Aces will play the majority of our home games at Anderson Park District fields. We expect the team to be made up of mostly 8th graders but also plan to have freshmen playersreturn to the team once the high school season concludes. The 14U Aces will compete in the Gold division.

For 2020, the head coach for the team will once again be John Chafin and he will be assisted by a staff that consists of former college players and high school coaches. Over the lasttwo years Chafin’s teams have compiled a record of 54 – 17 and were the 2018 SWOL Continental Division league tournament champs, and the 2019 Ohio District 9 Preseason Champs (14U).

Chafin, a former Division I and professional player, has coached in SWOL for 10 years and compiled over 350 wins and 20 tournament championships. He helped develop a number of collegebaseball players during that time including Andy Almquist (Miami, OH), Patrick Birrer (Otterbein), Anthony Bell (UC Clermont), Bruce Bell (Pikeville College), Nick Bennett (Louisville and Milwaukee Brewers), Dylan Chafin (UC Clermont), Nathan Davis (RobertMorris), Jonathan Deifel (Kent State), Alex Dickey (Wabash), Jason Goe (Morehead St.), Brad Hall (Miami, OH), Spencer Helwig (Walsh), Spencer Henn (UC Clermont), Justin Hopkins (UC Clermont), Eric Jaun (Babson), Nick King (UC Clermont), Christian Lohr (TreveccaNazarene), Jake Murray (NKU), Nick Osborne (UC Clermont), Simon Schaefer (Mt.
