Week 9 was a three-game two-day jaunt through eastern Colorado. My Thursday plans fell through. But I still managed to find three games. A six-man game on Friday afternoon, an 11-man game featuring Wiggins, a team I've now seen three times, and a Saturday afternoon 8-man game in Wiley.

Enjoyed checking out the Wiley-Holly photos. Both teams play close to where my father grew up in Las Animas. Looks like Wiley was LA's only win this season based on the Max Prep schedule. Their field looks exactly like what I remembered the Las Animas field as when I was last there ~7-8 years ago. When my father played there in the early 70s, they were a 2A powerhouse. He went on to play one year at University of Northern Colorado (FCS) before moving on from the sport. My uncle was the kicker on the team that won their only state championship in 1975.

Eastern Colorado holds a very special place in my heart.
