2019 NFL Draft

I've said this on numerous occasions, I'm so glad the Browns hired Dorsey and not Dave Gettelman. When Gettelman said the Browns made him an "offer he couldn't refuse" on the OBJ trade, I knew he was a buffoon. Last night solidified it.

Dorsey brought a level of experience and success that we have not seen in the front office for a long time.
 
Who would have thought two TEs from Iowa would be picked before a RB, WR, and DB were picked?

I was wrong about the Clemson guys, they went much earlier than I expected. Also while there was a run OL late there are still decent guys out there, something must be up with Jawaan Taylor to fall out of the 1st. Plenty of DBs & WRs available too, could be a run on those guys filling needs.
 
In my soul I hate the look-at-me and the hat picking... but that party sounds like fun. It wasn't serious. Not at $50 a head. The kid is days away from making the sum cost of that party everyday before his morning poop. No money was being made here. No drunken orgies with hookers.

There was an excuse to have a party. They had a party. A family and friends oriented party.

I hate the hat picking thing when HS kids are announcing where they want to go to college. This NFL thing, I am pretty sure that is ESPNs doing in having a hat there for him as each other player got one walking down the hallway.


So they charged for that party huh.....WOW. First off, I wouldn't want to have a party if it wasn't just going to be just friends and family and 2. There I no way I would pay to attend some party like that.


What a bad look, but I think he will do just fine!

Best of the bunch: WR Morgan

The one UDFA that the Bengals should have gotten was Te’Von Coney, LB, Notre Dame; who was signed by the Raiders
 
I apologize if this has already been posted earlier in the thread, but did you know the University of Tennessee has not a single player get drafted in 3 of the last 5 NFL Drafts? They had zero draftees in 2015, 2016, and 2019. That's incredible.

If this is accurate (I'm too lazy to do the research) that is pretty amazing. Even if they are down for past several years, one would think they would have at least 1 person selected.

The lack of overall success on the field the past few years for the Vols further validates this point.

I don't know Daniel Jones, and I'm not a Giants fan, but I'm actually going to root for the kid. I have no idea why there is so much negative coming about about this kid? Sure he didn't put up crazy numbers like Haskins and Murray, but I think those are more of products of the systems they ran in college. Jones should be comfortable in the Giants offense, he's familiar with the Mannings and I think he'll get a good year to just sit and learn. Murray and Haskins only started for one season at their schools, and I really feel Murray will have a difficult adjustment. Bad team, new coach, new system, and he'll get thrown into the fire.

It doesn't sound like Murray's leadership qualities are very strong either.

Giants taking this kid over Haskins still seems goofy to me. Haskins' improvement over the season was impressive, even if he had a better team around him.

I'm guessing you're a Buckeyes fan? I'm not. I'm not big on Haskins. I think he's going to struggle as well. He played in a conference and program that has not produced alot of NFL QB's. He generally played against non-NFL calibler defenses and especially linebackers and secondaries. We'll find out pretty quickly if he can make the transition as he'll likely start for the Redskins out of the gate.

In general, the quarterback position is the the hardest to gage in NFL ability, and each year, we get snookered with multiple "can't miss" prospects and some teams need QB's so it's a forced pick. I think we'll see in 5-6 years that this was one of the worst years to draft a QB ever. I'm not sure any will have much of a career.

I would be surprised to see Haskins start week 1. They traded for Case Keenum, and he seems like the perfect bridge QB to allow Haskins some time to develop and learn the NFL game without being thrown into the fire.
