2018 Schedule

Saw a thread in the football forum about 2018 schedules and whatever they had for next season looked very incomplete, anyone have any idea what the schedule looks like next year?

Week 1:
Week 2:
Week 3:
Week 4:
Week 5: @ St. X
Week 6: @ LaSalle
Week 7: ELDER
Week 8:
Week 9:
Week10:

Surely we're not foolish enough to continue to only schedule 3 home games again going forward, right?

Also a random question, how is our field turf holding and how soon will that need replaced?

Last, how long do we continue to play at Lockland with less then adequate facilities on site?

I would guess that the schedule in 2018 will be the same as in 2017 except for the first game. So that would be:

Week 1: Crosstown Showdown (neutral site)
Week 2: Trinity (home)
Week 3: Scott County (home)
Week 4: Lafayette (away)
Week 5: @ St. X
Week 6: @ LaSalle
Week 7: ELDER (home)
Week 8: Iggy (Neutral site)
Week 9: Eds (home)
Week10: Winton Woods (home)

If true, that's 5 home games!

Yes if true would be a huge up grade. only 3 true road games. Rosfeld has already started them in the weight room. Can't wait to see what Carpenter will be like after another year in weight room and learning technique from Rosfeld.

I think the general consensus is there will be no more Crosstown Showdown. The restrictions by the NCAA made it difficult. Have to wonder if someone else doesn't find a way to create something similar with fewer teams at larger high school venues.
Team has not been in the weight room- outside conditioning all week

Good know and I don't hate that schedule.

I was also under the idea that the Crosstown Showdown was done.

I would love to schedule a local opponent, whether it be GMC, ECC or GWOC and also heard the Ignatius series will go back to a home/home basis?

There is no more crosstown showdown and I hear that we will open the season against the defending state champions, Pickerington Central. I also hear the St I’s game is a home and home now.

Any idea where the PC game will be played?

I'm hearing the opener is not Pick Central but a Canadian team. I hope this information is wrong because a Canadian team doesn't do a thing for us with Harbin Points.

The schedule thread on the football forum has Wayne and Milford both having opening week one games. I don't know how updated they are, but those would be some good openers. Has it been confirmed that the KY games from this year are happening again next year? It would be good to see them renew their game with Cov Cath too. They got a good thing going over there now.

Anybody know how the weight room renovations are going?

Im under the impression its not really a renovation more of a "reboot". Thorough cleaning, new paint on the walls and Doug wanted to take down all the stuff (plaques.. etc.) in the weight room to help the kids focus on now rather than the success of the past.

Any insights into the coaching staff? I've heard that Todd Naumann will be on the staff (maybe DB's) and it looks like there is a new strength and conditioning coach, Ryan Ross.

Not exactly sure about Naumann. But I hope so, guy has a huge passion for moe FB. I still remember him torturing us all through work outs in O'conner 10+ years ago.

I believe Chris Majors is coming back. Havn't heard any thing about Dwills. I assume he would be back considering Dwills,Majors,Nauman and Doug were all assistants on Crables staff.

I believe Rosfeld has a younger alum he coached at Moe, as assistant Oline coach maybe?

As far as the lower levels, I believe Ben Moorman is back with the JV. Faller with frosh.

Blum '11 is moving to varsity OLine after one year on freshman staff & two years as JV coach including last year as head JV coach- he also teaches at Moeller; Shane Jones is back in Cincy and will be the LB coach.

Majors, Cruz, Blum, Faller, Moorman, Ginnetti, Shane Jones, Alex Pace, Ryan Ross, and Naumann are the coaches that are for sure in.

Thx. Who is the defensive coordinator?

I do not know, considering that two of these guys are first time coaches (Jones and Pace) I doubt either of them will be DC. But Naumann, in my opinion, isn't fit to be DC either, so I don't know.

Looks like the old strength coach Hux or what ever his name is, is back at LS. Saw a video they put up on twitter, dude seems like a total as*hole. Confirms a lot of things Ive heard about him over the years. Was pretty much just talking/screaming down to their kids. So glad all the LaSalle boys are gone.

I have a ton of optimism about the direction of the program under doug, his staff and there coaching/teaching philosophy. I just have a lot better feeling about the program in general. Willing to bet there will be more W's, without needing 5 D1 recruits a year to do so.

Looking forward to the basketball team beating up on X this weekend. GBM!!

Looks like Steve Klonne is still involved; that's a good sign.

McBride got an offer to play for West Virginia- basketball that is. Getting an offer from such a major program is impressive especially considering his injury this fall. Unfortunately it leads to the question of "will Duece be back to play QB next year?". I would have to say no in light of this offer and the long recovery he will have endured.
