Well, posted this last year, and figure it would be worthwhile to do it again. Aside from the well known Crosstown Showdown, there's four other 'kickoff classics'. Two in Michigan, one in New York, and Georgia.

The Corky Kell Classic started in 1992. It's 26th year kicks off the 2017 season. Originally a mainstay of the Georgia Dome, the games had been tentatively slated for the Georgia Dome's replacement. However, construction forced the games out for 2017. After a 9 game slate between Mercer, McEachern HS, and the Georgia Dome, this year moved games to Georgia State Stadium. Formerly well known as Turner Field that is being reconstructed as a 23,000 seat football stadium. Being outdoors, mid-day August days in Georgia may really hamper the crowd.

The 13th year of the Prep Kickoff Classic. Ran by the Detroit Sports Commission, it was moved to Wayne State in 2012 from Eastern Michigan University.
