I agree that this post has moved in the opposite direction from which it was initially meant for. I would like to set the record straight that Y2H is nothing more than an onlooker to the entire Hoover Football program. I'll break it down real simple for you Y2H. You're stuck talking on players with talent and the lack of work ethic of the 2004 Hoover Vikings. The 2003 10-0 team certainly had quite a bit more talent than the 2004 team. Perhaps you're too thick to understand that the graduating class always leaves a huge hole in the program. The 2003 class left a void that the 2004 class could not fill. Simply put: The 2004 team lacked the experience to succeed in the Federal League. It might also be worth looking at the Federal League rosters from the 2003 and 2004 teams. I'm not saying Hoover lost more players than any other team in the FL (although it may be true). The teams that took the field for the 2004 season were nearly the exact same as the previous season. The 2004 Vikings were a new team with new players with minimal experience. Deuce talks the truth when he said the 2004 class worked harder than any previous football team. Although their record did not reflect the hard work, work ethic was not the problem.

While the 2004 class has moved on, nobody from the team can possibly ever forget the Hoover Football experience. Can you blame us for trying to hold onto it for just a bit longer? By blaming the players, Y2H, you're the one turning your back on the Hoover Football program. I wish the best of luck to all upcoming Hoover Football teams. Don't erase the 2004 class from the Hoover Football record books, remember them and learn from their mistakes.

Not that I need to but I'll get y2h's back. He played on 2 Federal League Champion teams and 2 playoff teams. I think he's far more than an onlooker. I don't believe he ever turned on the Vikings. I can speak for myself in saying that last season was a nightmare, but the worst part was the McKinley and Jackson games where it looked like the team just quit.

I find the words that the 2004 team worked HARDER than any team before it very hard to digest. I am not doubting their work ethic, but harder then ANY team previous?

calling out my loyalty as a fan...i havent missed a game since week 1 in 97. saying ive turned my back on the Hoover program...why am i the most optimistic Hoover poster predicting a 7-3 season at least then? im a life long diehard fan of the Browns, Indians, and Cavs; teams which have had plenty of eras that dont inspire bandwagon hopping (post expansion, pre World Series, pre Lebron). i suffered through a 105 loss season with the Tribe, a 17 win season with the Cavs, and the Browns abysmal record since the return...and they werent that great in the 90s before they left either. i dont turn my back on teams i follow but i wont sugar coat it either. the preformance last year was ugly...2003 felt like a family, everybody had each others backs; 2004 was a bunch of individuals looking for thier own numbers (reference duece blaming the offensive line). North Canton is my community, Hoover is my alma mater, and wearing that orange and black uniform was a sense of pride and i still proudly wear those colors today as a fan. ill be there week 1-10 as always whether the record is 0-10 or 10-0...just listen for the H-O-O-V-E-R cheer coming from the 50

GO VIKINGS!!!

So where do the vikings go from here? Is this a group of kids that can recover? I know the talent coming in the next few seasons. But this year I don't personally know that many of the boys (as far as seniors go). The one person that I do know is Donny. And you can bet your butt he will recover. I will not make any preditions on this season but I will say this any Hertler team that believes in the cause can play with anyone.
