Every year I have to explain this, but I am happy to do so....

The title of the thread is "First Friday". That means, it is a countdown to the traditional start of the High School football season which is the "First Friday" of week 1. Games that happen before that count, of course, but just like Opening Day in MLB, the games in Japan a week earlier aren't "really" opening day.
