Work harderMercer Co. is no longer no.1 per capita, dropped to no.4 WTH.
People have been very good about masks from what I’ve seen. Particularly in stores...DeWine and the Public Health officials running his covid response have boxed themselves into a corner. Their covid warning system is overly sensitive to case numbers. This bias has now run head on into two realities of covid:
* It's highly contagious so it will spread.
* Increased testing, particularly to monitor university populations will turn up more cases.
This will happen in spite of most Ohioans taking DeWine's instructions seriously and masking up and social distancing. Since DeWine ordered mandatory mask wearing indoors I've seen nearly 100% compliance. People are doing what he tells them to do. He and his incompetent public health officials, and the ridiculous color coded covid warning system they developed is proof of their incompetence, can not blame us for the increase in cases.
The reality is that what's happening was always going to happen. The good news is that deaths and ICU admittance's have either leveled off or gone down in the face of escalating cases. DeWine has foolishly chosen cases, the least important marker, as the parameter we must control.
He can't close Ohio down again. If he did there would be mass resistance and people would stop following any of his suggestions. 90% of the state would refuse to enforce his rulings. He would be in real danger of being impeached and removed from office.
If I was DeWine I would reconfigure the warning system and put a lot more emphasis on hospitalizations, ICU admittance and deaths. Cases would go to the back of the line.

This thing is contagious, so it’s going to spread if we don’t all live in bubbles. It’s inevitable. It’s pretty chilly right now here in Cleveland. I think we’re going to see numbers spike soon just like they have in Europe recently. People should continue to focus on good personal health (eating and exercise) to keep their body primed to beat off this virus.
The medical community has been telling people to eat better and exercise more for years. Frankly, if more people listened to them on the past on this, we’d be in a better place with COVID because we’d have a lot less comorbidities.Funny how they nag us about masks whose benefits are minimum but seem not to emphasize the things people can do to strengthen their immune systems.

If we had a lack of testing we wouldn't be finding these casesStay tuned. Case count is said to be spiking especially in Central Ohio. The lack of testing is starting to be apparent.
And there were never tornadoes and hurricanes and floods and fires before Trump either........even before the "Get Trump at all costs flu" came along 2.8 Million or so Americans died every year. The Leftist Main Stream Media have their moron followers believing nobody ever died til that bastard Trump showed up.
With the University of Cincinnati football program they do the nasal swab test on every player, coach, manager, stat girl, trainer, admins, etc. EVERY DAY. That amounts to about 175+ tests everyday, or about 1200 EVERY WEEK on totally asymptomatic individuals with a test that may or may not be accurate. If 7 or 8 of the 1200 tests come in as positive they shut the whole program down for ten days. All this and NOBODY IS SICK, nobody feels bad, nobody has a fever, nobody lacks energy. All they have is Q-Tip that says positive...If we had a lack of testing we wouldn't be finding these cases
Any word on quarantine western Ohio after strong west winds coming from Indiana?
I would be interested in knowing what the actual compliance is. In my area the compliance level is probably more like 60 to 70%. I think it might be more compliance in urban areas and less in rural. I was in Holmes county yesterday and I noticed stores there had signs posted that mask wearing was voluntary or notifying customers that their employees would not be wearing masks. We have a large state. It is hard to know what is going on throughout the state. This will happen in spite of most Ohioans taking DeWine's instructions seriously and masking up and social distancing. I’ve seen almost no one without a mask in my area. I drove to Clifton and back today through the UC campus and about 75% were masked outdoors. I never wear a mask outdoors. People are for the most part in compliance and many going overboard in my opinion.I would be interested in knowing what the actual compliance is. Yep. The number of cases are not particularly relevant anyway. But if they are growing, why not tell us what the data looks like? And they really should also adjust the numbers for the false positive rates of the tests.I am interested in finding out the ages of those testing positive right now and if all these new cases are related to colleges. Is this data out there?
Its very annoying that the health department (and at the National level of course the CDC) keeps all the Data tightly under wraps. They act like they are the only ones who should be seeing the data at any level of detail. It’s a huge joke.I am interested in finding out the ages of those testing positive right now and if all these new cases are related to colleges. Is this data out there?
Thinning of the herd
You've got to be joking, you can't be this dumb. The lack of testing is starting to be apparent.
