Great idea with the $10 early registration. You knocked it out of the ball park with that one. That is what people like to see. and I can live with the $20 if you miss the early registration but $40 for a walk up? really!!!

yeah cuz we all know the everything we plan works out. plans don"t change? lol. hopefully you sellout with the early registration. that could be a huge turnout!
Do you need officials?

Great idea. Take less from each and get more in the door. What a novel concept. It's like lowering taxes on each transaction in order to encourage more transactions thereby taking in more revenue. And if you're only paying $10 to get in, I bet you leave the cooler at home and eat there. What? More wrestlers = better competition = good reputation for the tournament's future. HUH??

I'm lookin' at you OAC & redbull.

Please take your first year wrestler to any tournament you like. I have no affiliation with the OAC, they charge what they charge. If you don’t like the price then don’t go, if you don’t like how the seeding points work then don’t wrestle.

HAHA! Good one. OOoooh. Got me! But you still haven't addressed the issues. Tell us how those seeding points really help. My "1st year" boys have wrestled in them, won them, have placed in their districts and still end up ceeded below kids they've beaten multiple times in both venues. You say it's the "going rate" but here's a perfect example that you're wrong there, too.

If you haven't noticed, there's a recession out there. There's absolutely nothing wrong with someone coming on here and being honest about costs and benefits.

OAC "seeding" tournaments cost too much and the seeding points are of minimal benefit.

Elephant Man - Your comments about what is "customary" to charge and the benefits of competing for "seeding points" show that you are certainly a "rookie" in this realm.

Yes, you can post what your beliefs and opinions are.....But, if you are serious about getting some intense training and competition....Then you better be prepared to pay in excess of $20 and join competitions like the OAC seeding competition, or the "Ohio Wrestler Top 20 List".

FYI - The OAC seeding competition has very little to do with where you placed in the brackets at state or districs. In fact it may even go against you. My son was placed in a certain space in the bracket to go directly against the first seed kid. Wrestlers with no seeding points got buys in the first round.

My suggetion - stop posting naive replies to seasoned posters, and stop calling out people by certain names. Both people you called out in the above post have been involved in wrestling for decades and are experts in their field.....

You do make the forum exciting to read however with your ridiculous replies, so maybe you should keep posting. You and Chincup, he is hillarious!

Ouch, I think she just gave you a spankin elephant man. You do make things comical on slower days. Still way behind LCast, one of my all time favorites. The “seeding” tournaments usually brings out the studs, and there getting better every year. The matches my son got yesterday I probably would have paid more, (not saying I want to OAC) just saying they seem to attract good wrestlers. The room yesterday was full of state placers and a couple of state champs from both Ourway and OAC. I am sure this 10 dollar Top 20 Tournament will also be a good one.

Jhova you also have a tournament at the OURWAY President's home school of Maumee that is a nicely ran tournament on this day as well!!! Plus one in Wauseon....there are many choice for a good day of wrestling... That is what makes Ohio Great!

We sat down and did our schedule for the remaining part of Nov and Dec. Our three main criterias were competition (which from past we can kind of judge), three periods that weren't all neutral and somewhat of a relatively close distance (although 1 and 2 tend to outweigh 3).

SOOOO many good tournaments the problem becomes narrowing them down but our criterions do help.

I am surprised Ourway would run a tournament in Maume the same day as Team Ourway qualifier though.

Yes Sir! I second that.

There are an awful lot of tournaments on this day. Great choices. Anybody that runs a tournament understands how hard it is to schedule a tournament date without any other tournaments. Because it never happens.
