Yappi history: what year did the football forum begin?

I've been on here since 2002 I believe (EDIT: I see it is 2003 but I think I was lurking on here but didn't have a username before then) . I used to follow Hudson football a lot, then Stow, but have fallen off in attending many high school games. I'd like to get back into going weekly at some...

    General NFL Chat

It's going to be an interesting 4th quarter. Baltimore is gaining its momentum and I'm a little disappointed with Buffalo's offense in the second half.

I always liked Josh Naylor. I didn't like how he ballooned up last season. I'm sorry to see him go, but I think there may be more to the story that we don't see or hear. I'll posit an outrageous theory - was Josh's "rock the baby" and other similar-type emotional antics a factor in his...

    Vikings at Rams (1/13) 8PM

Agree. Vikings. Gotta say it's crappy for the Lions that they will have to play the Vikings a second time in 2 weeks in the next round, after beating them soundly in Week 18. Detroit is the NFC's version of the Cleveland Browns as far as luck and curses go (it sure isn't on a talent and wins...

IIWII. Insert typical placating comments about how smart the front office is here. Aside from all that, I have seriously followed the dealings of the Guardians/Indians since 2018 (watched most of the games and read all I could about them to try and be an educated fan) and been a casual fan the...

I wonder if Santana is an insurance policy if Manzardo starts slow at 1B this season.

I too am surprised the didn't get more for Naylor. It's felt like he was on borrowed time in CLE since the Yankees series and maybe before then. The 2025 season feels like a 70 win type of year.

    Cleveland Browns 2024 Edition

Yeah. it is kind of this "the sky is always darkest before dawn" thing I have with the Browns-the hope they're THIS far away from making that one small move that will allow them to start turning the corner.

    Cleveland Browns 2024 Edition

Good. Don't draft a Penn State QB. Ever. It's written down somewhere, or at least it should be.

City of Stow with TWO PLAYERS OF THE YEAR!!!

Is Nate Gregory's dad the Stow star from the late 80s orearly 90s, Ted Gregory? If so, it's even more an indictment of where the Stow football program is when the son of a football legend doesn't go to the same school as his dad.

And not likely to change for the better at this point in his career (the bat). I didn't like the move but it's the reality of a market like Cleveland. I have faith in whatever plan they have.

I'm not totally convinced Kwan's here to stay, so that one outfielder might become 'none' pretty quickly. There's a rumble in the force with the Guardians this offseason and I feel like Naylor and maybe some other big names might be gone, yet, before the start of spring training 2025...

Trying to make room for Bazzana. They've got him going to the HOF before playing one game in the majors. Something tells me there is more to come.

Agree it's not a good look on the organization. It adds to the "cheap" stigma the Dolans have.

Why are we shopping Lane Thomas? The Guardians spent how long looking for a CF - a month ago we thought they had a long term solution to the CF problem in Thomas - now he's on the block? Don't create a hole where there wasn't one. And don't move Kwan to CF. Leave him TF alone in LF already. I...

2024 Summit County Viking Memorial Pick 'em Season Wrap-up

Thank you for running this Clark. It definitely adds to the high school football season.

Glad he's back. Let's get him healthy and set up to make a return in mid-to-late 2025. Whether he makes it all the way back or not, letting him walk wouldn't be a good look on the Guardians, I don't think.

If so, it's a big disappointment, at least for me...I thought the guy had some promise when the Browns hired him.

Can't blame the guy. Seems like a good guy. I wish he'd have stayed but these guys are out for money, as they should be- they've got families and we'd probably do the same thing in their shoes. I don't have to like it, but...next man up. If we can get one (a starting pitcher, that is).
